KG2 Math Lesson Reflection: Comparing Numbers

Today's math lesson for KG2 students compared quantities by counting and identifying whether one group had more, less than, or the same amount as another group. The teacher used circle time and activity areas to teach identifying comparisons, using counting strategies, and forming sets with different numbers of objects. While the lesson went as planned and the concepts were understood, too much time was spent in circle time which led to some student misbehavior. For the next lesson, less time will be spent in circle activities.

SWC Lesson Reflection

Today I taught math subject and the lesson I taught is compare by

counting it is for KG2 students and the lesson take place in the

classroom, I used the circle and activities area for the lesson. The

learning outcomes for this lesson are: identify whether the number of

objects in one group is greater than, less than or equal to the number

of objects in another group the second learning outcome is use

counting strategy to compare sets of objects and the last one is form

different sets of objects with different numbers. The lesson was very

smooth and it went as I planned for the students understand the three

concepts of comparing: less than, more than, equal. The aspect that I

didn’t do it well is I took long time during the circle time and the

students start move and misbehave, so for my next lesson I will try to

spend less time in the circle area.
