Concept of Accounting

Accounting is an art of recording , classify and summarizing in significant manner and is terms of money,
transactions and events which are of financial character and interpreting the result there of .

Types of Account

Personal Account:-Personal Account are the accounts of persons, firms , concerns ex. capital A/c,
drawing A/c , kedar marketing A/c etc

Real Account:-These are the accounts of things , materials , assets & properties. It has physical existence
which can be seen & touch.

Nominal Account:-Nominal Account is the account of services received (expenses and losses) and
services given income and gain.

Eg. Salary ,rent , wages , discount, commission, stationery etc.

Rules of Debit and Credit

Debit The receiver What comes in All expenses and losses

Credit The giver What goes out All incomes and gains

Journalize the following transactions:-

1. Business started with cash Rs. 10000

 Cash A/c dr. 10000
To Capital 10000
(Being Business stared with cash.)
2. Deposit into bank Rs. 10000.
3. Bought office furniture Rs 3000.
4. Sold goods for cash Rs. 2500.
5. Purchased goods from Mr.Z on credit Rs. 2000.
6. Sold Goods to Mr. Y on credit Rs.3000.
7. Received cash from Mr.Y on account 1000.
8. Paid cash to Mr. X Rs,1000.
9. Received commission Rs.50.
10. Received Interest on bank deposit Rs. 100.
11. Paid into bank Rs. 1000.
12. Paid for Advertisement Rs. 500.
13. Purchased goods for cash Rs.800.
14. Sold goods for cash Rs. 1500.
15. Paid salary Rs. 500.

Equipment needed for Tally Installing or setup:-

1. RAM:256 MB or higher
2. Hard disk space: Minimum 40 MB (Excluding date)
3. Monitor solution (Monitor Resolution)
(1024*786 Pixels or higher)
4. Operating system (Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows xp. Windows vita,
Windows 7 and windows 8 windows 10).

Installing Tally ERP 9:

There are always for installing [Link] 9 which are Given below.

A. Single user
B. Multi user
C. Multi user ( Client)

To installed Tally for single user.

 Insert the [Link] 9 Program CD ROM drive

 Double Click on my computer
 Select CD drive and open it.
 Select [Link] file.
  Double click on it
 Click on next button.
 Define required data directly eg. D:\Tally.ERP9\Data
 Select [Link] 9 for user.
 Click on next button
 Select required language and country.
 Click on install.
 Click on finish.

To install [Link] 9 multi user Server.

 Insert the [Link] 9 program CD in the CD ROM drive

 Double click on my computer
 Select CD Drive and open it
 Select install .exe file
 Double click on it.
 Click on next button
 Select use license server
 Type port number eg.9090
 Click on next button
 Click on finish button.

To install [Link] 9 for multi-user (CL,Ent)

 Insert the [Link] 9 Program CD in the ROM drive

 Double Click on my Computer
 Select CD drive and open it
 Select install .exe file
 Double click on it
 Click on next button
 Select use license server.
 Type port number eg. 9999
 Click on next button
 Click on finish button.

How to uninstall Tally .ERP 9?

 Open the Control panel windows .

 Select add or remove program
 Double click on it
 Select [Link] 9
 Click on remove
 Click on uninstall
 Click on finish
How to open Tally.ERP9?

 Click on start button

 Click on Tally.ERP9 folder
 Click on Tally.ERP9 option
 Then appears Startup screen.
 Press alt +w key to open in educational mode
 Press alt+ I key for single user or press Alt +J for multi user.

Components of the Tally ERP windows:

Tally .ERP9 provides various components that can be perform various function in tally .The following are
the major components tally windows.

a) The horizontal button bar

b) The gateway Tally screen
c) The vertical button bar
d) The product information bar
e) The status bar

The horizontal button bar

The horizontal button bar is located of the title bar . It is contains the following buttons.

P:Print:Prints the current reports displayed on the screen.

E:Export:Export reports and saved then in the disk files.

E-mail:E-mail current reports.

O:Upload:Published the report on the website.

G:Language:Allows used to changed the startup language.

How to change program language?

 Press Alt+G Key

 Select a language you can choose any one them self.
 Press enter key

K:Keboard:Allows you to change key board language press Alt+K key

 Select required language

 Press enter key

H:Help:Allows the user to excess the tally refrence.

  Press Alt+ H Key
 Close office
 Press enter key .The help reference manual screen appears

The Gateway of Tally Screen:

The Gate of Tally screen just below the horizontal bar and located most of the tally .erp 9
windows. This screen is divided into parts. main area and the name of currently opened company and
EST, Detail, such as last entry made into .The company and current period of the company . The gateway
of tally menu contains the gateway of tally menu.

The vertical button bar

The vertical button bar is the located est. The extreme right side of the tally .erp9 windows . It
displays various button that provided quick and direct access to serveral option and tasks . It contains the
following buttons.

I. F1 select CMP
Allows you to display opened companies or all companies name list.
II. F1:Shut CMP:Alt +F1
Allows you to sets date.
III. F2:period :Alt+F2
Allows you to sets the starting and ending dates of financial years of company.
IV. F3:Compuny:
Allows you to display a list of presently opened companies.
V. F3Cmp info :Alt+F3
Allows you the company’s informations.
VI. F4:Connect
Allows you to connect with [Link].
VII. F11:Feature:
Display the company features menu which we can to set option for.

The production information bar.

This bar is located at the button of gateway of Tally screen. It contains program name , product
user, configuration and calculator.

Calculator:

This option is used to calculate , mathematical data we can activities the calculator by pressing
ctrl+N key use . The ctrl +M to quit the calculator.

The status bar:

This bar is located at the button of Tally.erp9 windows .It display currently path , valid days
system date and systm time.
How to close the Tally.erp9?

 Press ESC key to quit Tally.

Quit?

Yes or No

 Click on yes or press enter key or y key.

Company Info (Alt+F3)

This is the first menu of the Tally . It is use to charge the information of company .We can create
new company, edit company, Security settings, Split company data, company, company backup, restore
etc.

This option is used to create a new company or new files.

How to create a new comapay?

Open the Tally program

Press the Alt +F3 key to enter company info menu.

Click on create company (press C)The company creation screen appears

Press backspace key and define directory Eg. D:\Easy.

Type or select company details.

Note:

Define security option
:Tally Vault password and security control (users).

Define Browse currency information:

Shut Company(Alt+F!): It is used to close the current company.

1. Press Alt+F3 key from keyboard.

2. Press H Key or click on shut company.

3. Select company name and press enter key or

4. Direct press Alt +F1 key

Close Tally program

 Close the company

 press ESC key
Quit?

Yes or No

 Click on yes to quit.

Alter:-This is the sixth menu of Company [Link] is used to delete company or rename company name
address , change password , current year, E-mail Id,phone [Link].

How to Rename company ?

1. We go to company info. Press Alt+F3

2. Choose Alter menu from company info or press A Key.
3. Then define required data and fill it now.
4. Then press enter key to save the data.
 5. And Accept the option “yes/No”

How to delete company?

1. We go to company info. Press Alt+F3

2. Choose Alter menu from company info .or press A key
3. Then choose company
4. Then Press Alt+D
5. Then choose option “yes/No”

Create Group of Company:-

This menu is fourth menu in company info. It is used to create Group of company.

How to create Group of company?

1. We go to company info. Or press Alt+F3 key from keyboard

2. Choose menu “Create Group Of Company” or press G Key from keyboard
3. Then Define the required Data and fill it.
