1. Where would you like to be in your career in five years?


How will you achieve that goal?

2. Tell me about a situation where you saw an unsafe act.


(Look for description, action taken and results.)

3. What would you do to improve quality in your operation?

4. Tell me about a situation where you were required to perform more work than you could handle.
(Look for description, action taken and results.)

5. Tell me about a problem you had with a coworker.


(Look for description, action taken and results.)

6. Describe a situation where you did not get the desired results. How did you react?

7. If promoted, what role would you play in maintaining professional relationships, preventing sexual
harassment and valuing diversity?

8. If promoted, what would your expectations be from the company?

9. Which supervisory job would you like best, and why?

At this point, review the promotion procedure with the candidate, including: promotion packet,
interviews, selection process and opportunities.

Also review the employee’s file for the following items: complimentary letters, complaint letters,
discipline letters, accident reports, injury reports and grievances.

Review the positive and negative aspects of management positions and the role and design of the
position being applied for, as well as any future advancement within the company.
