Guidelines for T&P activities

1. The department of T&P has already started its work by inviting companies to our college. In the
process invitations were sent to more than 150 companies.
2. There is major change in T&P registration process.
3. The registration will be a 2-step process, an online as well as an offline reg.
4. For UG recruitment there will be a google form which will be circulated by the evening of 13th
July, 2018 i.e. tomorrow.
5. Everyone interested for the placement sessions for the academic year 2018-19 are eligible to
register for T&P, provided they have registered for the seventh semester of [Link]. There is no
CGPA or any backlogs criteria for registering into T&P.
6. The online google forms are to be filled by Monday afternoon.
7. There should be no errors in the filled-up form. The online forms will be checked thoroughly and
if any false information is found, then such a candidate will be debarred from attending all T&P
activities.
8. The online form is to reduce the task of the candidate to fill the google sheets every time a
company visits the college for recruitment. Instead, a small application for noting the names of
interested candidates for a particular company will be passed on when the company comes.
9. E-mail accounts have to be checked at least once in a day during placements.
10. As mentioned earlier about the two step process, there is also an offline registration.
11. In this mode, there will be a one-page application. The soft copy of the offline form will be
circulated shortly and the form has to be filled in the computer. The photo is also to be
attached to that form and a hard copy of the form is to be submitted along with T&P ID (will
shortly be made available at xerox stores).
12. All the candidates pursuing/ have pursued their internships during Summer 2018, irrespective
of having got a PPO, should also register themselves.
13. The dates for the submission of offline forms will be specified later. Both online and offline
registrations are mandatory for enrollment into T&P activities for the year 2018-19.
14. There is no registration fee.
15. Dress code for placement talks and tests- need not be formal as well as too casual. (avoid jeans
and t-shirts).
16. You are supposed to come prepared with all the equipment required for attempting the tests as
borrowing will not be allowed.
17. During the pre- placement talks of the companies, doubts or any clarifications should be asked
or sought only when given a chance to do so. Not any time before.
18. Dress code for interviews: Boys- White, half white shirt, formal shoes, ties (if prescribed by the
company). Girls- Should wear the formals meant for them or else a decent churidar.
19. While interviews are taking place, there shouldn’t be any supporters for the candidate inside the
T&P department.
20. Any such supporters, if present should not be wearing shorts.
21. Prepare an elegant resume.
22. Mention your credentials.
23. Have at least 10 copies of your passport size photographs.
24. The pre-placement talks are scheduled in Aryabhata. Timings are to be strictly adhered to.
25. The department follows the policy of one offer. So, there’s no second chance for the people
who have already got one offer. This is to maximize the number of students getting placed.
26. If some people possess some contacts with companies and somehow if the company was not
invited earlier to the college, then they are very much welcome to suggest the list of such
companies to the placement representatives.
27. Under-performing in the interviews for the sake of not getting selected will debar the
candidate from future T&P activities.
28. No rounding-off of the CGPA from the students’ side.
29. Falsification of identities while attempting online tests for placements will be punished
severely.
30. It is mandatory to attend the T&P orientation session by Sameer sir for taking part in
placements. Attendance will be taken and will be linked to the regn.
31. Absence due to genuine reasons like medical issues or internships should be brought to the
notice of the placement reps to facilitate the permission approval of such candidates. They
will be permitted to attend the orientation session of any other branch, but attendance in any
of such sessions is must.

32. There will be a 45 min. orientation on 16th July, 2018 (Monday)

at Aryabhata hall from 5:00pm-5:45pm for mechanical
engineering.
33. Those who are interested in IT companies are advised to brush up their coding skills.
34. All internship candidates should undergo the same procedure of registering like everyone
else.
35. Off campus placements (placements achieved outside the college) are welcome, but T&P has to
be informed.
36. Do not register for placements if you have strong plans for higher studies.
37. Hopefully, the recruitment process will start in the last week of July or first week of August.
38. The placement representatives are the interface between the student community and the
Department of Training & Placement. So, do not directly approach any faculty of the T&P dept.
during placement process as you will not be entertained.

P.S: These were the minutes of the meeting held for the placement representatives scheduled on
12th July, 2018 at 5:00 pm. The meeting lasted for two hours and ended by 7:00 pm.
