Check weight and age of child-4kgs and 3 years- check dosage-ok

You are given a sheet that states one tablet of atenolol can be dispersed into 10mLs of water to give a solution strength of
5mg/m. so 1.8mL of solution is required to give 9mg of the drug.
They ask for what is to be put on the label- disperse one tablet in 10mL of water. Measure and take 1.8mL of this solution.

4. The doctor of a nursing home calls the pharmacy asking you to dispense and deliver a packet of phenergan 25mg for a
lady suffering from severe itch. You dispensed and delivered the Phenergan. A few days later one of the nursing home staff
called you and complained that they haven’t received the medication and that the patient has not been given the
medications. What do you do? How do you prevent this from happening in future?

5. Working in a locum pharmacy and you see a staff member pick up some stock and put into her handbag. You approach

6. Patient with pethidine script from popular local doctor. These have been dispensed to her 3 times in the past couple of
days. What do you do? Upon questioning, you find out she goes back to Doctor for the injections. After talking to Dr he
tells you to mind your own business. What are your legal obligations?

1. A script for predmix 5mg/ml 2ml bd for 3 doses. you just ask them all the questions you need. its for an 11mth old
with croup. dosage is fine and number of doses, although excessive, they said was fine! you dont have to know the dose
off by heart. i said i knew it and they gave me a copy of the AMH just to check it anyway! counselling points etc etc.

2. A script for Augmentin Duo forte and a request for Nurofen for a sore shoulder. She was on Methotrexate tabs for RA
and warfarin for TIA and frusemide for HF. i said i wouldnt give her Nurofen because of her HF, yet i think they were
actually looking for NSAIDS + MTX--- possible MTX toxicity. the augmentin was for a burn. not related at all
apparently. stumped me cause there was no major interaction and they seemed to want one. very confusing. very scary.
Gave her a methyl sal rub for her shoulder.

3. Show them how to use an Optium blood glucose monitor. nearly freaked out but they just said to tell them what each of
the things in the box were used for, not how to actually work the machine. yahoo!!! not so bad after all!

4. Ethical dilemma, lady wants some temaze but doesnt have a prescription. i would ring her doctor, who was available.
get them to fax me a copy. they seemed happy with that!

5. Schedules of a list of drugs. mycostatin oral drps. nicorette gum, rhinocort 64mcg, MS Mono caps, etc etc.

free for couple years, had seizure week ago
