ABSTRACT

Suprapto.2014. The experimentation of cooperative teaching learning models of

Group Investigation (GI), Think Pair Share (TPS), and Problem Based Learning
(PBL) with the Scientific approach on the materials of exponent and logarithm
considered from the creativity of the students of grade X public SMAs in Pacitan
regency in the year 2014/2015.

Sujadi, M. Si. The department of Mathematic Education, Post Graduate Program,
University of Sebelas Maret, Surakarta.

This research is objected to determine the influence of teaching and learning

models with the scientific approach toward the students’ achievement in learning
mathematic considered from the creativity of the students. Teaching and learning
models to be compared are GI, TPS, and PBL.
This research is chategorized as an apparent experimental research. The
population is all students of grade X MIPA public SMAs in Pacitan regency in the
year 2014/2015. The samples are 251 students. The method of data collection are
documentation, questionaire, and test. The technique of data analysis is the
variation of two different cel ways.
The conclution of this research are: 1. The students’ achievement in learning
mathematic using GI model is better than using TPS and PBL models, while the
students’ achievement using TPS model the same as those using PBL model; 2.
The students with high level creativity get better achievement in learning
mathematic than those with medium and low level creativity, while the students
with medium level creativity get better achievement than those with low level
creativity; 3. In high level creativity, the students’ achievement in learning
mathematic using GI model is the same as those using TPS and PBL models. In
medium level creativity, the students using GI model get the same achievement as
those using TPS and PBL models, but the students’ achievement using TPS
model is better than using PBL model. In low level creativity, the students who
learn mathematic using GI model get the same achievement as those who use TPS
and PBL models, and the students’ achievement using TPS model is the same as
those using PBL model; 4. In learning mathematic using GI model, the students
with high, medium, and low level creativity get the same achivement. In using
TPS model, the students with high, medium, and low level creativity get the same
achievement. In using PBL, the students with high level creativity have the same
achievement as those who have medium and low level creativity, but the students
with medium level creativity get better achievement than those who have low
level creativity

Last week, John’s grand mother was injured. She slipped and fell in the
bathroom. At that time John’s parents were in their office. He then called an
ambulance to make his grandmother to the hospital. John was always by her side. After
they arrived at the hospital, the paramedics brought her to parentsthe emergency room
to have a first examinatioan. John called his parents and waited outside. Thirty minutes
later his parents came and the doctor told them that john’s grand mother had to stay in
the hospital for several days her legs were broken. John’s father then registered her of
the administration desk John always visits his grandmother after school.

B. NARRATIVE TEXT

Once there was a little ant. She wanted to get married, but she only wanted to
marry the strongest creature.

She wanted to marry the strongest creature, but she didn’t know who is the
strongest creature. She saw the wind blow houses down. So she thought the wind was
the strongest creature. She wanted to marry the wind.

But the wind told the little ant that he wasn’t the strongest creature. “There
was a tower in the forest. He had stood there for a thousand years against my force. The
tower was the strongest creature.”

“Why do you want to marry me?” the tower asked.

“Because you are the strongest creature in the world. You are stronger than the
wind,” said the ant.

“You are right, I’m strongest than the word. But I’m not the strongest creature
in the word. Look, how I’m damage ! can’t you guess who has done this to me ? It’s you,
ant.”

At last, the little ant married her own kind. Because they were the strongest
creature.
TEXT NARRATIVE

Once upon a time was a girl named Cinderella. She lived with her bad step-
mother and two step-sisters. She had to do all the house hold chores.

One day, the king invited all the ladies in the kingdom to go to a ball in the
palace. He wanted to find the Crown Prince a wife.

The step-sister went to the ball that night their mother. Cinderella was left
alone. She cried because she actually wanted to go to the ball too.

Just then fairy godmother came. With her magic wand, she gave Cinderella a
coach, two horses, and footmen. She also gave Cinderella a lovely dress to wear to the
ball and a pair of glass slippers. She told Cinderella to come home before midnight.

At the ball, Cinderella dance all night with the Prince. The prince fell in love
with her. At midnight, Cinderella ran home. Unfortuntely, one of her glass slippers
slipped off at the door. She did not have time to put it back on. The prince was sad as
he could not find Cinderella again that night.

The next day, the prince and his men brought along the glass slipper. They went
all over the Kingdom to search for the owner.

After searching for a long time, finally, they came to Cinderella’s house. The
slipper fitted her. The prince was very happy to find Cinderella again. They got married
and lived happily ever after.

TEXT RECOUNT

FEAR OF FLYING

One day I flew from Denpasar to Makasar. I went with Kevin and Kathryn.
Kevin is the Project Manager for kang Guru Radio English and Kathryn is the Program
Officer for AUSAID.

The flight was only abaout an hour. We started to descend and the landing gear
made a loud POP saund. I was a little worried. The pilot said something over the
intercom in Bahasa Indonesia. I didn’t understand him. I asked someone sitting near
me for a due. He looked anxiously back at me shoking his heads. There was no comfort
there. The flight attendants looked scared too.

Where was Kevin when I needed him? I glanced back at Kathryn. All the colour
had drained from her face. She was dutching the armrests of her seat and shaking in
head with her jaws denched. Again, the pilot said something in that mysterious languge.
This time, instead of the POP sound there was a nice gentle creaking and a slight
shudder as the landing gear dropped. I lokked out the window and could see the tires
on my side of the place lowering. I fell a little week in the knees. I realized I had been
holding my bieath for quite a white. As I drew in a deep breath we gave each other a
shaky smile as the plane bounced along the landing sti

In The Beach

white. The Queen was her stopmother. She was very jealous of her beauty. Do,

 The Queen turned into a witch. Snow white did not realized it. The
