Basic instructions for use of the feed caclulation program
1. Feed nutrient values can only be placed in the feed ingredients sheet for the program to work.
Nutrient Values
2. If the ADF value is unknown then the crude estimate should be used that is equal to the crude fiber value.
3. If the lysine vaule is unknown then 4% of the crude protein value should be used.
Example: if the crude protein is 18% then the lysine value would be 0.72%
4. If the methionine value is unkown then 1.5% of the crude protein value should be used.
Example: if the crude protein is 18% then the methionine value would be 0.27%
5. If a feed ingredient is not in the listing, a good reference is the current Feedstuffs reference guide.
Print-Out
6. Print the prinout page and staple to the inspector card.
7. If a drug is used then you will need to print out the drug calculation sheet and attach it to the inspector card.
Medicated Feeds
8. If a drug premix is used in the mix, you must include the drug premix in the feed ingredient sheet
and pull down in the calculation sheet. Include the name of the premix on the drug calculation sheet.
9. Do not use two concentration values for the same drug in the drug calculation. The resulting number will not be accuracte
Custom Mix Reporting
10. Incorporate all mineral nutrient values on the inspector card for all custom mixes.

Guarantees in bold are generally required on the label for that species. Trace minerals and vitamin A, when added.
Guarantees not in bold and shaded are optional guarantees that may be included on label.
Copper guarantee for goat and sheep feeds is required when > 20ppm
Most Minerals need to be guaranteed when added to Beef, Dairy, and Equine mineral feeds. Except for, Magnesium and Potassium in Equine mineral feeds
A Minimum Fiber guarantee is needed on Rabbit Feeds, not to be less that 5% of the max.
