Illegal immigration to the U.S.
The immigration is the oldest History and the newest experience of United States. The
same dreams of freedom and opportunities that motivated to people go through the ocean
hundred years ago. Nowadays the same things said before attract the people to U.S
Meissner, (2006). The immigration has allowed the growth and prosperity of U.S., and
helped to form the dynamic of society.
However, in these last years the illegal immigration has increased and one the main causes
is due to the lack of money, opportunities of job in their country of origin Besides this
generates that many people go to the American dream for a new style of life with a new
job and better economic income. By which this country attracts all the countries where
there is not a lot of prosperity.
The effects that caused this situation is that immigrants are used for forced labor, in
addition there is racism and hatred toward foreigners. Several people have tried to make
the American dream for a long (Meyers, 2007). Several experiences have happened to
achieve this American dream, an example of this I will detail below: several years ago
some friends attempted to cross the border, because they did not have many opportunities
in our country they were to achieve that dream, so they agreed to meet on Friday to
prepare the journey. Then my friend Luis advised me not to go to the U.S. he said to me
that trip would be difficult. Later my other friend reminded me to telephone his mother
and said goodbye to her because he didn’t want to tell her anything.
They experienced many situations by crossing the border, they suffered many abuses
when they tried to cross the border, but despite the difficulties managed to reach their
goal. Once there at the beginning it cost them to adapt to the new place, they did not
understand the language and for that reason could not find work easily. Afterwards little
by little they were understanding the language and got new friends that allowed them to
get a job in the United States. If I were in that situation would react positively and I would
try to achieve my goals and those problems don’t affect me and go on with my life.
Finally, many people prefer to go to another country due to several causes, for example:
job, education, new style of life, etc. Travelling to abroad is difficult and it depends on
each person whether decides to go or not to.
