Needs Assessment:
■ The instructional/training problem or opportunity that this training module will focus on is the
lack of efficient training that teachers receive on their use of technologies in the classroom,
leading many educators to opt out on creating interactive lessons for their lessons.
■ Despite the high demand from students and administration to deliver interactive lessons filled
with a variety of educational technologies, teachers do not receive the necessary training in
order to implement this type of teaching technique into their classrooms.
■ Inconsistent training, content overload, and lack of time are often factors that contribute to
this problem.
■ The recommended solution for filling the gap is to develop a self-paced training module that
focuses on three basic applications that can be incorporated into classrooms. This module can
be accessed from anywhere as long as you have a computer and internet access. It serves as an
introductory course into creating interactive lessons in order to get educators to feel more
comfortable with these type of technologies.
■ Because this module is self-paced, and flexible, it allows for learners to take their time to truly
understand how to create the interactive lessons that are being demanded. This will help in
reducing the gap on what is and what should be.
Instructional Goal:
■ Upon completing this training, learners will be
able to create an interactive lesson using
YouTube, Google forms, and Prezi.
Performance Objectives:
■ Objective 1: Upon completing the instructions on how to incorporate a YouTube
video learners will be able to successfully share and upload a YouTube video on a
presentation software (Prezi).
■ Objective 2: After reviewing the step by step instructions on creating a google form
survey/quiz, learners will be able to create a quiz/survey consisting of at least 12
questions which will be made up of multiple choice, fill in the blank, and open ended
questions.
■ Objective 3: After reviewing instruction, learners will be able to create a lesson plan
on Prezi of at least 12 slides that incorporates a YouTube video, the Google form
survey/quiz and will be able to successfully share the link to the presentation and
present the lesson plan.
Assessment of Learning Objectives
Performance Objectives: Assessment:
■ 1.] Development of a product criteria:
a) Learners successfully shared a YouTube video by clicking on the share button on the bottom
right side of the video of their choice.

d) Prezi is interactive.
e) Learners can successfully share their Prezi link via email.
f) Learners can successfully present their Prezi.
Learner Characteristics:
■ The target audience varies in age from around 21-60 years old, both male and female,
and are teachers/educators at Wiggs Middle School in El Paso, TX.
■ Learners for this project have a college education varying from a bachelor's degree
up to a doctorate, predominantly in education and related fields.
■ They are self-motivated and proficient in reading and writing.
■ Learners in this audience have and are efficient in basic computer skills and

Learning Context:
■ The training module is a self- paced teacher’s guide to the basics of creating interactive
lessons that can be accessed online from any location. As long as learners have a computer
and internet access they can access this training module from anywhere, whether that be at
home, work, in a computer lab, a café, etc.
■ The training module is flexible, accessible, and easy to follow because the purpose is to
encourage teachers to dive into the world of educational technology, not to make it seem
harder or discourage them.
■ This training module can be completed whenever learner’s have free time, or feel inclined to
add or practice their skills in the applications included in the module.
■ Some constraints that may occur are that there is no official instructor delivering the lesson,
therefore some additional questions or concerns many need to be researched.
