CONCLUSION
Through this assignment, we managed to analyse and identify the types of doors, windows and
floor finishes of the room at the Blok M, UiTM Samarahan Campus 1. Based on the room at Blok
M, we noticed that the type of door that has been installed is fire door while for the window is
sliding casement window where both of them serve different purpose for the building and the type
of floor finishes that has been used is tiles . Window is basically an opening on a wall that
allow light to penetrate through, even air and sound can penetrate through it . The type of
window that used in Blok M is sliding casement window for the classroom and lecturer’s
office . Fire door is set up at Blok M like most of the buildings due to safety issue. Fire doors are
part of a building essential requirement especially for public buildings which has the ability of
fire resistance. It is employed to reduce the overall risk when a fire occurs. The way how it
installed can slightly affect the risk of damages. It is used as part of passive fire protection to stop
fire or smoke from spreading. Moreover, it can allow easy escape from the building in case of a
fire occurs . The type of floor finish at the Blok M is applied floor finish and the type of
tiles used is ceramic tiles . The advantages of ceramic tiles is that it light to medium duty
usage, easy to clean and high resistance to dampness penetration . The selection for the
types of windows, doors and floor finishes has its own specification, based on the Standard
Specification For Building Works 2014 .
