Guidelines for Assignment Preparation and Presentation (MGTS F211)

Weightage: 10% (20 marks)


Evaluative Type: Group evaluative
Submission Format: Report (10 marks) and Presentation (10 Marks)
Submission Deadline: Apr 13, 2018 (5:00 pm, email softcopy to your instructor with the subject:
Report Submission group number_company name) Non-adherence to the scheduled will result
in penalty.
Project Presentation: Dates to be announced by instructors during the class
Project Submission Guidelines (Report Preparation):
One company chosen from Fortune India (2017) 500 list has been allotted to each group
([Link] ). (Please see attached excel sheet).
Each group has to submit a report containing following details about the company and carry out
a timeline analysis on the given topics:
Basic Details: Story of inception, details of founders, vision and mission, few numbers and
change in these numbers from previous year (Revenue, net operating income, net profit, total
market capitalization, number of employees), and details about industry (number of players,
other competitors, market share).
Timeline Analysis: Carry out timeline analysis by identifying changes (minimum 2 changes, if
available) that took place during 2007 to 2017 (in the last 10 years) on following topics (analysis
should be supported with evidences (data, if available) that might be collected from published
sources including company website and news articles; avoid writing general arguments):
1. Leadership (type of leadership style, apply few theories of leadership to understand
effectiveness of those leaders);
2. Corporate strategy (growth, renewal) (M&A; geographical expansion, product expansion)
3. Organization structure (highlight changes in the types of organization structure, change in
span of control, formalization, centralization, departmentalization)
4. CSR/ Sustainability practices (approach towards CSR and sustainability, change in practices)

Format of Report:
Total length of report: 12-15 pages (including title page and references)
Spacing: 1.5
Margins: 1 inch (all sides)
Font: Heading- 14, Text- 12, Times New Roman

1. Title Page (Title of assignment, group number and name of group members, purpose of
assignment submission)
2. Table of contents
3. Basic details about company
4. Timeline Analysis
5. Conclusion (Summarize your learning)
6. References (Mention all the sources in the main text and complete details of those sources
here; follow APA referencing style to write your references; remember Google is not a
reference, it is a search engine, Wikipedia is not considered as authentic source for academic
reports)
Presentation Guidelines:
A PowerPoint presentation will be made by the group where maximum 10 slides are allowed.
Maximum time for presentation will be 15 minutes including (3 minutes Q&A).
