Complete this worksheet while viewing the Measurement Video, writing your
calculations and answers in the space provided.

Lineal/Area Measurement Volume Measurement

12 inches = 1 foot 3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon


36 inches = 1 yard 8 ounces = 1 cup
9 square feet = 1 square yard 16 ounces = 1 pint
2 pints = 1 quart
4 quarts = 1 gallon

Lineal Measurement

Exercise 1: This is a 12” ruler. How many of these rulers equal 1 yard or 36
inches?

Exercise 2: The track at your school is ¼ mile long. ¼ mile is equal to 1320
feet. How many feet are in a mile?

Area Measurement

Exercise 3: If 1 square foot equals 144 square inches, how many square inches
are in 1 square yard.

Volume Measurement

Exercise 4: Your mom has asked you to make a batch of Sugar Free Lime
Punch Kool-Aid for a party. She asks you to add the water directly
into the punch bowl but you don’t know how much water the bowl
holds. All you have is a one cup measure. How many cups of
water do you need for 1 gallon?
