Statement of the Purpose (for admission in MS Quality Management)

Waqar Latif

I did Masters in Physics (sixteen years of education) from Punjab University Lahore, Pakistan (2002-2004). I
had worked in education sector (Sep, 2004– Nov, 2008) as lecturer and Institute of Space Technology
Islamabad, Pakistan as a Researcher and Quality professional (Nov, 2008– to date) with 13 years of experience.
At the time of joining the Institute, I was in Quality Control department (instrument branch) and after two
years Quality Management System (QMS) was introduced by the management.

To evolve QMS in the organization as a key person I attended and qualify different training courses on
standards and quality improvement tools and workshops (Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2008, Lead Auditor ISO
9001:2015, Statistical Process Control (SPC) using MS Excel and Minitab software, Lead 5S Implementer
etc.) From last 08 years I am working in QMS setup and during this tenure I supervised and conducted
quality related trainings, workshops and audits of ISO 9001:2008 to produce quality culture in entire
organization.

During the execution of QMS projects, I came across some areas in which I couldn’t stop myself
developing interest and urge in my mind to go for higher studies in the field of Quality Management .
My work experience provided me strong determination to develop new technology and I can be
possible only when we adopt new technology in the platform of higher studies.

In context of all of the above, organization provide me opportunity to improve qualification for the better
execution of job requirements. I win HEC scholarship to implement my dreamt of higher studies in the field
of Quality Management.

I would prefer UK as it is the best place to study where modern and new technologies are introduced
day by day and people get benefit. Living in such environment where all goals, objectives,
determinations are same and academic is priority is the most vital in one’s professional carrier.

The courses taught at your university fulfill my job requirements and will increase my abilities and help me
to broader my vision and scope. Your support, would also enhance my skills and to refine my work in the
above area.

I hope I will show good results at your university in the MS program as I was one of the brilliant
students in the Punjab University and college as well. I got 71% marks in the master degree and 74%
marks in the bachelor’s degree. So, I request my application to be considered for admission.
