Course Description
The course provides students with an introductory overview of the management of facilities.
Objectives
This course develops the framework within which the participants can integrate the material
presented during the course. The course is intended to broaden the horizons of technical specialists
to the diversity of responsibilities. The role of the facilities management as an integrating discipline
within the constructed environment.
At the completion of this course students should:
Have established an understanding of the overall function of facilities management in the
life of a facility.
Developed an understanding of the legal constraints which affect the operation of a facility.
This is not intended as a detailed study of the law but highlight those areas that directly
affect facility managers.
Have developed an understanding of maintenance objectives and the consequential
selection of strategies based on criteria that are consistent with corporate objectives.
