I. PROJECT PROPOSED:
Study of the different Investment Strategies adopted by different investors by assessing attitude
towards risk and returns prior and after to Economic recession.

II. DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT IN BRIEF:

The project is all about the different investments which investors adopted with the purpose of
investing their money. In the project, I would understand the different investment instruments
like Savings Account, Mutual Funds, Insurance products etc. Then, would focus on the risk and
returns which investors are able to assume prior and after to economic recession. This will be
done with the help of a questionnaire to collect primary data about investors.

III. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:

The main objectives of this project are:

1. Analysis of different investment strategies adopted by investors.

2. To analyze the investment patterns of investors of different age group and income
groups.

3. To analyze the trends in the different investment instruments.

4. To find out potential investors and their needs so that organization can target the
particular segment of investors with its existing and new investment products.

The main reason behind choosing this project could be better explained keeping in view the
articles on Economic recession due to which the Indian economy and stock market tumbled
down and investors lost a large part of their money in stocks and hence, now people are not
investing much in stocks. Also at present, the real estate sector has also seen a decline in the
prices. Thus this project focuses on the different investment strategies of investors and the trends
in investment patterns.

METHODOLOGY:

The project involves analyzing the investment strategies of different investors. The research for
the project will be done in two phases:

First Phase: Basic knowledge about Investment instruments

This phase involves understanding the various investment instruments like Savings Account,
Mutual Funds, Insurance products, Equities, Term Deposits which an investor can choose.

Second Phase: Collection of Primary Data and Data Analysis

This phase include the collection of primary data using Questionnaire. The questionnaire would
be filled by around 100 people mainly from NCR (National Capital Region). The sample would
consist of people who have their own business and are employed in the corporate. The data
collected would be then entered into SPSS (a software package) for analysis of the data
collected.

Initially a pilot sample consisting of approximately 30 respondents would be taken and their
responses will be analyzed to check the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. This pilot
sample would consist of investors who are employed in the corporate. After the preliminary
analysis of the responses of the pilot respondents, the questionnaire would be made data
redundant i.e. responses which are not considered as important by respondents, will be removed
so as to make the questionnaire data as redundant as possible.

After this data redundancy, the resultant questionnaire would be filled again by different
investors for the project research work.

Total number of respondents in the research = 100 (approx.)

Pilot Sample of respondents = 30
