Overview of Fixed Dose Combinations

This document provides an overview of fixed dose combination (FDC) products that are currently on the market or in development. It notes that FDCs can improve patient compliance with chronic disease treatment by simplifying dosing regimens. Many marketed FDCs are for conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory diseases, and infections. The majority contain two drug molecules, though some contain three or four for conditions like HIV. Oral tablet formulations are most common, though other delivery routes exist. Several large pharmaceutical companies have numerous FDCs on the market, and FDC pipelines remain active.
