Notes
Graphs and tables are based on average current rates of exchange applicable in each year. Balance sheet information is translated at closing
rates for the relevant year.

From 1 January 2000, Unilever adopted the euro as its principal reporting currency. The sterling information for 2000 to 2005 and the US
dollar information for all years is given solely for the convenience of readers and does not form part of the full audited accounts of the
Unilever Group. The euro values for years prior to 2000 have been derived by converting values previously reported in guilders using the
official conversion rate of €1.00 = Fl. 2.20371.

Unilever adopted International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with effect from 1 January 2005, with a transition date of 1 January
2004. These differ in certain respects from those generally accepted in the United States. Where relevant, information is provided for both
2004 figures as published in Unilever’s 2004 Annual Report and Accounts, and 2004 figures when restated onto an IFRS basis.
