Visual Circuits

Time, Set Rwy Track Time 3sec/100ft AAL Approach Brief/Checklist


Gears down, Flaps 3 +/- 1SEC for head/tailwind Aps Off, FDs Off, Bird on, Set 336

Flaps 2 at 10-15 secs before Start Timer


ROD = 300-400fpm 1500ft = 45 Secs
2000ft = 60 Secs
After T/O Clb C/L
Flaps full 2.5NM
Ldg C/L
800ft/Clb Thr
Wings level @400ft Gear retraction Flaps 1
700-800fpm AP 2 Pull Hdg Act App Phase

Start turn around 1200ft


180 degrees turn on runway
Taxi right hand side 25 degrees of runway while maintaining 5-8kts
Start Turn to left when CM2 over the runway edge.
Asymmetric thrust(ENG 1 Idle) or differetial braking if required.
Turn width = 21m (319), 24m (320), 30m (321)

Go Around
Thrust Levers = TOGA, Rotate 15 degrees, "Go Around Flaps!"
Read FMA.
"Positive Climb!" "Gears up"
Engage AP2 , Manage Nav/Hdg if required.

Decision Making for go around


GPWS,TCAS,Windshear,Runway overrun warning(ROW)
Unstable
ATC last min changes
Loss of situation awareness
Any major malfuctions

Tail Strike Limitations


13.5/11.7 (320) 15.5/13.9 (319) 11.2/9.7(321)

Bounce recovery
Light Bounce = Maintain Pitch Attitude and complete landing while keeping thrust idle.
High Bounce = Maintain Pitch Attitude and initiate Go-Around.
* Delay flap retraction until safely established in GA.
