Business Process Description Overview
Planning on cost Centers : Cost Center is an object of Cost . For Control purpose, we can plan
(Budgeting) on cost centers –Cost element-wise. This is done using this function.
Input-Required Fields Field Value /Comments
Version Planning Version.
From period Period from which you want to plan.
To period Period upto which you want to plan.
Fiscal year Financial year.
Cost center Name of Cost center
To Name of the Cost center
Or group Name of the cost center group
Cost element Name of Cost element.
Output – Results Comments
You will get the message- Plan data changed. Please read the name of the message. If your entry is
incomplete, that will be shown as “message.”
Tips and Tricks:
If you give a cost center group and one cost element , you can plan this cost element on cost centers one
by one in one step.

PROCEDURAL STEPS
1.1 Access transaction by :
Via Menus Accounting Controlling Cost Centers
Planning Cost & Activity inputs Change.
Via Transaction Code KP06
1.2. On the “Change Cost Element/Act. input Planning : initial Screen “, enter information in the fields as specified
in the below table :

Version R Enter the version in which you would like to plan
From period Date R Enter the period from which you want to plan.
To period Date R Enter the period upto which you want to plan.
Fiscal year Year R Enter the Financial year
Cost center Code R Enter the cost center name(if cost center range is
used, the first cost center in the range)
To Code R Enter the cost center name (if cost center range is
used, the last cost center in the range)
Or group Gr. Code R Enter the cost center group name
Cost element Code R Enter cost element code
1.3. Press F5 or Over view Screen to advance to the next screen.
1.4. On the “Change Cost element/Activity input planning : overview Screen “, enter information in the fields as
specified in the below table :

Cost element R Enter the cost element for which you have to plan.
Fixed Cost: R Enter the plan amount for the period (s) for the cost
element-cost center combination selected.
DK Distribution R If you are entering costs for more than one period,
key and want to distribute the amount equally over the
periods, use distribution key 1. Otherwise, if you
want to allocate the costs over periods manually, use
Distrn. Key 0 and click on period screen and enter
the values for the respective periods.
Fixed consumption: R Enter the quantity if you want to record .
If you are planning for a cost center group,, use this
Next Combination O button to go to next combination of cost center
Click this button if you want to go to previous
Previous combinat- O combination.
ion You can go to any cost center directly using this.
Other combination O This is used to enter plan values-period wise if you
Period screen are planning for more than one month and if you
want to distribute the values manually.
1.5 Save the document by pressing Ctrl+S or enter Save.
