Problem Statement:
Motor cycle side stands are cause of approx. 36% of all the motor cycle accidents take place.
Moreover 50% of the motor cycle accidents result in fatality or permanent injury. People often
forget to close the side stand which result in tipping of the vehicle. Presently no safety/alert
device is installed in motorcycle to prevent this.

Solution:
Two solutions are proposed:
1. Install buzzer/light to alert the rider if side stand is open during ride (Approx cost per unit
Rs 150)
2. Install auto side stand closing mechanism. (Approx cost: Rs 2000 per unit)

Description:
Both aforementioned devices are easy to engineer and manufacture. These device will add very
little cost, enhance safety of the rider. This will also give marketing advantage to the motorcycle
manufacturers.

Target Customer:
Primary Customer: Motor Cycle Manufacturers. Approx 1.1 Million motorcycles were
sold in Pakistan during the year 2016. This figure is increasing constantly since last 5
years.
Secondary Customer: Motorcycle owners
