Reflection 12
October 25, 2017
Today was a wonderful day I had never enjoyed teaching
math to this day during any teaching practice. I taught a math lesson and
my MCT was observing me. It was a patterns lesson and I
had fun with the students to create new patterns that they
can enjoy it and keep doing it. I prepared for this lesson in
the morning and my MST told me that she will go out of the
school at 9:00. I planned with my MCT to come to observe
me at 8:15 so to avoid any problems while my MST isn't in
the class. For example, some teachers come to take the
students to their classes and I have to stay in the English
class. The students were very active and engaged to learn
about patterns, and they really show that they
learned how to copy, continue and create the simple
repeating patterns. I used manipulative for the
emerging and developing to copy and continue the patterns. And
for the master students, I bought several fruits to create their
own patterns in order to use something that connects with real
life. Also, it leads them to expand their thinking about what they
have learned about math in school and connect it to their lives.
