Pear Deck is a better way to present information to students, instead of a typical PowerPoint! Pear Deck allows the teacher to
create slides that students are able to view on any device. The slides contain information, collaborative quizzes, polls, discussion
features, drawing, and animated videos!
INTEGRATION/IMPLEMENTATION IDEA - SCREENCASTING
How might you use this resource to promote student learning? Describe who will be doing the screencasting you or your
students, and what purpose it will serve.
This is an invaluable resource when trying to lecture students, or engage them in new knowledge or content. Students will be
more interested in reading the slides from a device right in front of them, and will find that taking notes is easy and enjoyable.
The teacher will be able to have the class interact with the slides in quizzes, polls, and discussions. This is great for student
collaboration as well as providing the teacher with real time data on how students are feeling about the topic being covered. The
screencasting can be done by either the student or teacher, but most likely the teacher. The screencast will give instructions to
the students, and allow them to feel comfortable using Pear Deck to learn!

Explain your rating based on the indicators on the rubric.
I would give Pear Deck a 2 on the value-added rating scale. Pear Deck is a great way to enhance lecture by giving students the
ability to engage the slides from any device in front of them. Pear Deck is distinguished from a 1 rating, because of the various
interactive and collaborative features it is capable of doing. Students can answer questions and polls in live time, and see the
result. They can click on video links, and engage in discussion posts directly on the lecture slides which would not be possible
without Pear Deck. While the teacher creates the slides, it can be the students who utilize the various features in the
presentation, and take back the knowledge from the information given and discussed throughout the class.
