SMOD Assignment: Worker Shift Analysis

This document provides an explanation of an SMOD assignment for Group 6. It outlines the constraints and conditions given in cells C3 through C11. The maximum available days is 278 after meeting all conditions. Cells E2 through E13 show the number of workers starting each day and cell C12 sums this to calculate the required number of workers. The shifts available per day is calculated as the sum product of required workers and starting workers each day, accounting for public holidays, weekly holidays, and additional holidays through nested IF functions. A final check ensures the shifts available is greater than those needed.

Group 6

The constraints and given conditions are mentioned in the

cells C3 to C11 with heading in B3 to B11.
278 is the maximum number of available days after meeting
all the conditions.
E2 to E13 has the number of workers starting each day and the
cell C12 is the sum of this, i.e. the required number of workers.
The shifts available per day has been calculated as the
sumproduct of required workers and the number of workers
starting each day.
The equal distribution of public holidays, weekly holidays and
5 holidays after 6 months has been taken into account through
nested Ifs.
A check is carried out to ensure number of shifts available is
greater than the number of shifts needed.
