PROTOTYPE TESTING
This portion of the study shows the workability of the Parasol Guard and the method of testing
that the researcher will be used to gather and analyzed data.
Stability, Repeatability, Accuracy and Safety. Stability testing deals with the degree to which the Taser
characteristic remain constant over time. Repeatability testing will determine whether the taser is
consistent, the time required to used it again once it operates is also part of the test. Accuracy relates to
the uncertainly relative to a reference. And safety concerns about the all possible effect or danger that the
user may encounter while using the prototype.
Testing Procedure. The main feature of the Parasol Guard is located on its handle. The handle composes
of the Taser, the GPS tracer and the GSM module. The researcher will evaluate the taser, tracer and GSM
module if they are working on their prescribed specification. The researchers used two types of testing
procedure: short-term and long-term test procedures.
Short-term testing procedure. The short term testing procedure will includes the test of each of
the components of the handle of the Parasol Guard. The researchers will conduct 10 trials on the taser and
assess whether it is working properly or not. The transmit rime of the GSM module as well as the
workability of the GPS tracer will strictly considered. The design must work properly as one.
Long-term testing procedure. In the long-term testing procedure the data that was gathered on
the short-term testing must already corrected and the components are combine altogether. By these time
the taser, GPS tracer and the GSM module must act as one. The researchers will conduct a weeklong of
testing on the prototype. The researchers will measure the stability and repeatability of the Parasol Guard.
The length of time that the trigger of the Taser is held, the behaviour of the taser once the user used it and
its battery life will also predetermined.
GPS tracer and SMS verification. Microcontroller was used to activate the GSM module that is
dependent n the taser and GPS tracker. The researchers will test the capability of the microcontroller in
order to acquire successful and consistent data transfer and operations. The device must be able to send
the coordinate via SMS on where the Parasol Guard was used through smartphone. The GPS tracker must
be working properly to deliver the correct coordinate to the microcontroller. If the researchers were able
to receive the correct message without any errors the transmission capability of the microcontroller passed
the test.
