Objective of the work
Finite element simulations has to be conducted to determine the temperature distribution
(both in radial and axial direction), heat and electric flux-field in the Aluminum
cylinder/die/punch assembly. A thermalelectrical coupled model with temperature dependent
thermal and electrical properties is implemented. The simulation studies will be conducted in
ANSYS.
Introduction of Electromagnetic
An electromagnetic field (also EMF or EM field) is a physical field produced by
moving electrically charged objects. It affects the behavior of charged objects in the vicinity of
the field. The electromagnetic field extends indefinitely throughout space and describes
the electromagnetic interaction. It is one of the four fundamental forces of nature

FEM ANALYSIS USING ANSYS
Certain steps in formulating a finite element analysis of a physical problem are common
to all such analyses, whether structural, heat transfer, fluid flow, or some other problem. In this
we show the temperature distribution (both in radial and axial direction), heat and electric flux-
field in the cylinder/die/punch assembly. The simulation results also revealed that the
temperature gradient across the cylinder wall/die/punch is higher for conditions of higher power
input and/or Aluminum cylinder with lower thermal conductivity.
