PRESS RELEASE

At about 12:34 AM on 09/26/17, Decatur Police were detailed to the intersection of Crea and
Decatur Streets reference a dead body. Upon arrival in the area, officers were flagged down by
the caller, who directed them to the side of a residence in the 800 block of West Decatur Street
where the body was located. The victim was identified as a 21-year-old male Decatur resident.
He was found to have sustained apparent gunshot wounds, the exact number of which will be de-
termined at autopsy. Detectives were called in and worked through the night and are continuing
to work the case.

Anyone who may have information about this crime is encouraged to contact the Decatur Police
Department at 424-2734 or Crimestoppers at 423-TIPS.

No additional information will be released to the media at this time. The victims identity
will be released by the Macon County Coroner.
