1. To introduce students to the field of industrial engineering.
2. To introduce lean concepts in manufacturing, operations research, and human factors.
3. To equip students with tools for the analysis of industrial systems before internships.

Policies:
1. All exams and quizzes will be closed-book, closed-notes.
2. All homework is to be turned in the start of class on the day it is due. Late assignments will not be accepted.
3. Depending on the class size, only a subset of the assigned homework may be graded.
4. Discussion between students about homework problems is allowed, but any work you submit must be your
own. Copying another students homework will be considered cheating and will be dealt with using the
universitys policy on academic dishonesty.
5. Attendance in class is strongly recommended but is not factored into your grade.
6. Missed exams can only be re-taken by notifying the instructor on the same day with a valid excuse (like health
problems).

Final 40%
