A black cat with white legs dreams of being a panther after seeing one on television. When she tells her family, they say it's impossible since she will always be a kitten. Her mouse friend suggests asking the rats to take her to the jungle to learn from panthers. However, Mr. Owl cautions that it would be very difficult since she is smaller than panthers and would have to hunt other animals for food. Realizing this, the cat decides to apologize to her family and accept herself for who she is.

The impossible dream

Some years ago in a house of Bogot lived a black cat with white legs. One day while she was
drinking her milk, she saw by Animal Planet a beautiful panther, since that moment her biggest
dream was be part of them.

Without wait, she went to talk with her family but they said her that she wouldnt because her
destiny was be a kitten even when she wanted be a beast. Frustrated for the words of her
family, she left the house to walk a short time. The mouse that was her best friend saw her very
sad so he asked her:

- Hi cat, you is sad, whats happening?


- Hi mouse, I want be a panther but my family says that I will be just a kitten gentle for
ever, what I could do?
- I have the solution, my friends the rats know how arrive to the jungle, where you can find
them and they will educate you, you going to know how live them!

Offhand, she run to ask them but in the road she meets to Mr. Owl:

- Hi little moggy, --say the owl--.


- Hi Mr. Owl, how are you?
- Fine, whats the reason of your hurry?
- My friends the rats will take me to the jungle for learn how to be a panther like the ones
on TV
- i dont want discourage but its very difficult for you to become a panther
- --Crying says the cat-- nobody has faith in my dreams
- Look Kitten, i dont want you to be sad but its the true, if you think well, your parents Mr.
cat and your mother are smaller than the panthers and you isnt bigger than your family.
- I know but .
- Im not saying for its impossible life with the panthers but youll have more difficult to get
your favorite food. Maybe you dont have a plate of milk every night and you must not
forget that youll be running to catch your food.
- --Kitten says-- I dont understand, Mr. Owl, they dont have a owner who put their milk
and a good steak?
- No, they have been recorded to look nice but they hunt animals, while they try to catch a
big one, they eat rabbits or mice like your friends, so youll must kill them too.
- --Mr. Owl flying away, says-- Ok my dear kitten, I wish you success, if someday you see
me careless, please dont eat me, bye
- --The moggy terrified, thinks aloud-- Its not possible that I must kill to feed myself, and
my friends?
- I think come back to my house to apologize my cat dad, and I think that I should stop
watching television and be more realistic ...

Returning to her house, she finds her family very frightened:

- Where was you?... we were worried about you, is night and you were not with us.
- I have been speaking with my friends.
- Ok, you still have the dream of be a panther?
- No, i like more the milk .
- Its very good.

Moral: We are unique and very special in the world, accept yourself as you are.
