3. Job Set-up
Subtask 35-11-41-860-051-A
A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1) Obey the special precautions when you work on a gaseous oxygen system
(Ref. AMM TASK 35-00-00-860-001) .
(2) Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the access
door 812.
(3) Open the access door 812.
(4) Make sure that the aircraft electrical circuits are energized (Ref. AMM TASK 24-
41-00-861-002) .
(5) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) which tells persons not to push the
OXYGEN/CREW SUPPLY pushbutton switch is in position.

4. Procedure
(Ref. Fig. Oxygen Storage Cylinder)
Subtask 35-11-41-420-053-H
A. Installation of the Crew Oxygen-Storage Cylinder (5750HM)
(1) Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(2) Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(3) Make sure that the date on the oxygen storage cylinder (1) is not expired and that
the cylinder is serviceable.
(4) Make sure that the protective bands (20) are in the correct condition.
(5) Do a visual inspection of the composite oxygen cylinder only, and make sure that
there is no damage:
(a) Abrasion (because of wear, grinding or rubbing)
(b) Cuts
(c) Dents
(d) Delamination
(e) Heat or fire damage
(f) Structural damage
(g) Chemical damage.
(6) Carefully put the oxygen storage cylinder (1) on the support (17) and between the
clamps (15) and (19).
(7) Put the pin (18) in the clamp (15) and tighten the nut (16).

(8) Make sure that the shim (14) is correctly installed on the collar assy (11).
(a) If the shim (14) is damaged:
Remove it.
Get a new IPC -CSN (35-11-01-01-036) shim (14).
Install the new shim (14) on the collar assy (11) with Silicone Adhesive
Sealant-General Purpose One part legacy (Material No. 06CMD9).
(9) Install the collar assy (11), washers (12) and nuts (13).
(10) Make sure that the minimum distance J between the collar assy (11) and the
support (17) is 4 mm (0.16 in.).
(11) Tighten the nuts (13).
(12) Remove the oxygen cylinder stowage-cap from the cylinder valve outlet-port (7).
(13) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the
union (10).
(14) Apply a thin layer of Synthetic Oil base Grease-Fuel and Oxidized Environment
Fluorinated - (Material No. 03GEE1) only on the first three male threads of the
connection between the cylinder valve outlet port (7) and union (10).
(15) Put the new IPC -CSN (35-12-01-01-010) ring for flared tube (9) on the union
(10).
(16) TORQUE the union (10) to between 1.9 and 2.7 [Link] (14.01 and 19.91 [Link]).
(17) Remove the CAP - BLANKING, APPROVED FOR USE WITH OXYGEN from the
oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (2).
(18) Remove the sealing cap (4) from the cylinder valve outlet-port (5).
(19) Put the oxygen pressure-regulator transmitter (2) in position on the valve (6) and
TORQUE the nut (3) to between 7.0 and 8.0 [Link] (51.62 and 59.00 [Link]).

B. Leak Test
(1) Apply the solution Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen
System (Material No. 14CCB6) to the mechanical connections.
(2) Turn the valve of the cylinder (5750 HM) very slowly until it is fully open.
(3) Examine each connection to make sure that there are no leaks.
(4) Rub off the solution Testing Medium-Leak Detection - Oxygen
System (Material No. 14CCB6).
