Analyzing Flat and Solid Shapes

The document outlines performance objectives for teaching geometry and measurement. It includes two objectives - the first asks students to create 2D shapes based on given attributes like number of sides and vertices. The second asks students to compose 2D shapes and 3D solids with given properties or attributes, such as identifying a cube from a given net. The objectives are meant to reinforce students' knowledge of properties of 2D and 3D shapes through practice activities identifying vertices, faces, and shapes from nets.

Performance Objective: Geometry and measurement.

The student applies mathematical process standards to analyze attributes of two-dimensional

shapes and three-dimensional solids to develop generalizations about their properties. The student is
expected to:
Objective One: Create two-dimensional shapes based on given attributes, including number of
sides and vertices.

After teaching two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes, students are expected to re-
enforce their knowledge on how many vertices and faces a cube has by practicing this activity.

Objective Two: compose two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional solids with given
properties or attributes.

After learning about three-dimensional shapes and different ways to build them, students are
expected to use their creativity and logic knowledge to identify a cube from a given net.
