Condensate Pumps
The function of Condensate pumps is to
pumps out the condensate from Hotwell to
the deaerator thru' gland steam cooler, and
L.P. heaters.
CEP are vertical, multistage pumps and since
the suction is at a negative pressure, special
arrangements have been made for providing
sealing.
Normally 3 CEP per unit of 50 % capacity each.

Description and Design Features
Suction Bell / Bell Mouth-The double suction is located at the bottom of the
pump in order to operate under the best possible NPSH conditions
Shaft-Made of high tensile strength steel
Column Pipe- Fabricated column pipes to house the line shaft bearings and
direct the water from pump unit to the discharge head
Transmission Bearings-Cutless bearings are of natural rubber / synthetic
rubber with outer shell of brass or suitable material
Thrust Bearings- Tilting pad type or anti-friction type for taking hydraulic axial
thrust and weight of rotor assembly
Discharge Head / Delivery Casing - Discharge head connects flow from suction
pipe to CAN (outer shell- double casing) and directs the flow from pump unit
through column pipe in to discharge line
CAN (Outer Shell) - Fabricated CAN made out of steel is connected to the
discharge head. Length of the CAN depends upon the NPSHA at site
Non-Reverse Ratchet -Non reverse ratchet to prevent the reverse rotation

FIRST STAGE PUMP ASSEMBLY:
It consists of Pump Casing, a Double Suction Impeller
and a Suction Bell Mouth.
SECOND TO LAST STAGE PUMP ASSEMBLIES :
It consists of Pump Casings and Single Suction
