Puerto Rico

History
Puerto Rico, officially State free

Puerto Rico was a Spanish colony from the arrival of Cristbal Coln in 1493 until
1898, and was Spanish province of 1897 until the Spanish-American war of 1898. Four
centuries of Spanish administration resulted in a culture of Latin American, Spanish
language and Catholicism to be its most distinguishable elements. The Spanish built
numerous forts, churches and other buildings of public, commercial and residential use
as well as ports, lighthouses and highways. For more than three centuries, Puerto Rico
was connected to the Iberian peninsula by convoys of Indies fleets between Cadiz and
San Juan once a year.
Climate
The island of Puerto Rico has a climate tropical humid, with temperature average annual

In summer temperatures can run up to 40 C especially in the South of the island. In


winter temperatures drop to 4 C especially in the Center.

culture for the people who wear it what makes seeing the country as a nation with
everything under control that can enjoy fun, friendship, and many other values of Puerto
Rico.
