Supporting Family Through Tough Choices

Standing by her younger cousin who was experiencing difficulties was a good but difficult decision for the author to make. The cousin was lying, causing trouble at school and home, and surrounding herself with negativity. Though it was hard, the author chose not to abandon her cousin and instead helped get her away from the bad influences and into a new school living with family, providing a fresh start away from drama.

Making good decisions can be hard. When did you make a good
decision even though it was difficult?

A decision that was good but difficult that I made was standing by my little
cousin. She has been going through so much because she puts herself in these
situations. The lying, the causing trouble at school and at home. Standing by her was
hard because when she moved to Pawtucket, she was only here for the summer and
most of the lower classman knew her. She gets around so fast but I knew I couldnt just
abandon her. She needed someone to be hard on her but not yell at her. I needed to
get her away from the negativity, so of now she is in a new school, living with my uncle,
away from all the drama. This is her new start.
