R I went into this course to fulfill a requirement.

I came out with a better

understanding of histories part in my life today.
E
Our assignment was on the Martin Luther King National Park. Through this
F assignment I was able to allow Martin Luther King to have an impact on my
life almost 50 years later. I truly believe without him, I would not have the
L luxuries I have today in the workforce as a women. The neighborhood in
which I live in would look a lot different. Valuable friendships as both an
E adult and child would not have been made. Violence in our cities could
have been a lot worse had anger and misunderstanding been allowed to
C continue to thrive.

T I know we still live in a society were prejudice is very much a part of our
daily lives. I see so much violence, but I also see demonstrations of peace. I
I see a nation that is less divided by color and more untied by the belief that
every person has a God given right to live in free, and without torment. We
O know longer see streets lined with protestors all identifying with the same
racial background. We see people of all racial and cultural background
N
S
coming to support not a color but humanity. I think we now understand that
Val and I worked really well
on this project together. In
the beginning I had

U
discussed some creative
ideas with Val. I wasnt sure
how I could make them come
to life, but Vals computer
background made them
possible.

M Once we had the creative

aspect and highlights of
presentation organized, Val
was able to take our ideas

M
from a mental view to a
visual view. We both knew
music would help create the
feel of our presentation so
we made that a big part of it.
We wanted people to be

A excited, and at one point in

our presentation I saw a guy
from our class tapping his
toes, and quietly snapping
his fingers as he looked at

another classmate and
smiled. I knew our idea had
work.
