Class 9 Motion Worksheet with Solutions

This physics worksheet contains 8 questions about motion for a Class 9 student. The questions cover topics like calculating acceleration from changes in velocity, finding average speed from distances traveled over time, determining the speed needed to achieve a given average speed over a full trip using a partial trip speed, and calculating distances, displacements, times, and accelerations from scenarios involving objects moving in circles, trains crossing bridges, and cars accelerating and braking.

MOTION
Q.1. Starting from rest a car attains a velocity of 54 km per hr in 10s. Find the
acceleration.

Q.2. A taxi driver notes the reading of his odometer as 1058 km in the beginning
and 1099 km at the end of the journey after 30 minutes. Find the average speed.

Q.3. A train travels the first 30 km of a 120 km track at a speed of 60 km/hr. At what
speed should it travel the rest of the path so as to have average speed of 72 km/hr.

Q.4.A particle is moving in a circle of diameter 5m. Find its distance and
displacement at the end of one and a half rounds.

[Link] minute hand of a clock is 7cm long. Calculate the distance and
displacement of the minute hand from 9 am to 9:30 am.

Q.6. A 200m long train crosses a 400m long bridge with a speed of 36km/hr. Find
the time taken by the train to cross the bridge.

Q.7. A car starts from rest and attains a speed of 20km/hr in 15s. The driver then
applies brakes and slows the car to 5km/hr in 7s. Find the acceleration in both the
cases.

Q8. A car is retarded by applying brakes at the rate of 2m/s. It finally stops in 10s.
