Dear School Board,

My student Jimmy John has missed ten days this semester due to an illness. I do
believe that he should still be passed. His parents came into the school daily to bring his
reading assignments that he had done the previous day and to pick up what we had
done in class. He did miss instruction time but he did learn almost all of it from doing the
assignments. When he returned to his class from his illness, I worked one on one with
him to make sure he understood everything and had an overview of it. I strongly believe
that he should be passed and am confident he will meet district standards.
