Chapter 1
As the sun went down into the foggy nighttime sky, the crowds of New York had
only begun to awaken. The streets overpopulated in instants, and the downtown buses
and taxis were bumper to bumper. The cooling temperatures were moving and the bluish
skies were slowly fading.
I entered my room to get away from the insane asylum downstairs. My mother
was yelling into the phone, trying to get a halibut dinner to go from a Mexican restaurant;
of coarse my Mom is the cheapest person in the world, so I guess I won’t be eating
anything tonight, like usual. The Spanish poet was napping on the foldout couch, during
the ‘Argument of Deafening Racket’, and was putting up a line of Z’s. Poncho, a middle
aged man who was my Mom’s ‘chosen one’ and was also a lazy drunken hobo.
They met because she liked the play, “Romeo and Juliet”. She was on her way
back from France, after a long two-week trip of deluxe wine and crescent rolls, so she
took a cab, not just any cab - his cab, from the LaGuardia airport to our apartment and he
brought in her luggage, and I guess thinks got a little out of hand. I, on the other hand,
was sent to a private school all summer. I’m glad I missed the excitement, it would have
been (high pitched voice) ‘Awkward…”
As of now, the screeching would have gone on all evening, so I made my grand
escape: through the bathroom window. With a hop, skip, and a jump I landed safely, like
a cat, on my face. Even though it hurt, I continued to walk forth along the silent,
darkened street: off to the park.
The streets were all empty, no living being except the bums and alley cats, it was
a dark lonely place. Ignoring all those poor, helpless bodies, I shuddered at the thought of
being one of those bodies one day. Watching the entire world end for these destitute
people was…depressing. I listened for any signs of life, but I heard very little.
All the while I was walking, never realized that I had a stalker upon me, I can
smell cigarette smoke in the air, or maybe it was just me, and for a moment I felt special.
This stuff happens to Jody Foster not little old me. And suddenly I didn’t fell so special
anymore it started to feel a little creepy. So I made a quick decision: turned around,
pulled out my pocketknife and placed it against his neck, “Hey…(gulp sound)…
Jeremy…(breathing hard)…” Oops, it’s Trey; great, small talk isn’t going to get me
anywhere. I took my pocketknife down warily. I think he kind of needed a little cut on
the vocal box, but I understand. See, two years ago Trey’s parent’s left him with the
responsibility of his little sister to go join a nude colony. The ‘Magical Paradise of
Creeper’s’ as I call it. So he was forced to dropout, get a job, a house, and raise his little
sister, Jamie. So we talked for a while, as any old-close friends would have, and suddenly
he brought up the subject of Ally. I got stiff at the name, and then he asked – “So would
you invite her to come on over? I’d like to invite ya’ll two out to dinner.” You really
can’t refuse a lonely guy and that was that, so I answered, “Sure, where and when?” He
thought about it for an hour, and came to a decision, “My place would be fine, at six-
thirty, two days from now?”
So I said ‘sure’ and left right after that, though I did seem to fidget for an hour,
and started humming to my self, losing track of time. As I climbed back through four
hours later, Poncho stood in the doorway, looking as confused I was. “Where in the h*ll
were you?” I didn’t answer to quickly, or to be exact, not to slowly. “Okay, I couldn’t
stand all the snoring and yakking between you two,” which was the truth, at least the
most of it, “I really didn’t want to disturb this…uh… precious moment between ya’ll
two. And, I’m…I’ll… I’m sorry I’m rambling…uh?” He placed his hand right in my
face, then said the mostest, bestest thing ever: “I really don’t care, but we’re going on a
six week honey-moon, and then I’ll be your new stepfather, but you’ll call me Poncho,
because I don’t react well to: ‘Papa’, ‘Dad’, or ‘Daddy-o’ okay?” A shocker, but whatev-
Wait a second a- ‘six week honey moon?’ That wasn’t mentioned to me until now? “Wait
a minute, where will I be staying?” Well, he really didn’t know so he got Summer. And
the war started.
Chapter 2
Being tortured wasn’t enough. Being stabbed a million times wasn’t enough. So
what was? Ally was. Ally and her evil ways, her evil mind, and her despicable mind
controlling ways, I was going to live with her. Our conversation went kinda like this:
Jeremy: “NO! NOT OVER MY DEAD BODY AND HERS!”
Summer: “What is with ya’ll two, such good friends make such fantastic enemies.” she
said sarcastically.
Poncho: “Wait ya’ll two KNOW EACH OTHER?”
Jeremy: “Yeah Poncho, I haven’t told you this before, but you are a retard. And yeah we
do.”
Summer: “Hey! Jeremy –“
Poncho: “What is that supposed to mean, Sonny?”
Jeremy: “Guess Bitch! EAT ME!
Summer: “SHUT-UP! This music is SO ANNOYING!”
Jeremy: “Your point, you bought me the ipod for my thirteenth birthday.”
Summer: “You are so dead, thank god they put you in a room with Ally!” And that was
that… damn.
I have lost another fight to Ally, even though she didn’t like me as much as I liked
her.
Which wasn’t much.
So we started to pack my bags, with Poncho, witch was a pain. With him there
messing with my underwear. So I slapped him, and took my underwear and placed in my
personal bag. You know, a hand knitted bag by Ally, nine and half years ago, we were
about eight-nine years old, and we were irremovable from each other. It was a black color
with pink words that spelled ‘Magical reindeers are awesome.’ I know, it’s pretty weird.
Very weird. Extremely weird. WAY, way, way, TOO WERID!”
So I would be moving out in three days, they kept on telling me to put up with it,
telling me to ‘Shad-up!” And, well you get it, they were
