Drake's other songs include Mairzy Doats, Nina Never Knew and She Broke My Heart in Three Places. Oakland, a child prodigy on piano, was one of the most sought- afer composers in the 1920s through the 1950s. He had such hits as 1! Take Romance and I'll Dance at Your Wedding. ‘The Bluegrass Student Union, 1978 international champion quartet, patterned their own arrangement of Java Jive after the Manhattan Transfer rendition of the great Ink Spots hit of 1941. Legendary arranger Ed Waesche put the arrangement on paper for them, This was ther first experience of adapting a swing tune to the barbershop style and il became one of their favorite songs to sing, ‘This arrangement captures the fun ofthe lyric and easy beat swing tempo. Every part has an opportunity to sing the melody to ‘add variety and enjoyment in performing the song.
