Spiritual Housecleaning
A video companion guide
With more given, more is required. As we grow in the anointing, we find
ourselves needing more of Him and less of us. Sin becomes more evident and
suddenly we begin to notice glaring defects in our character, bad habits and
other issues that dont align with the Word of God. Despite repenting and
honestly trying to change it seems we fall back into that pit... confused...
What is wrong? Im standing on the Word of God, and yet it remains?! The
enemy tries to get us to doubt the faithfulness of God and a battle ensues as
we try to serve God and deal with our bad selves in a seeming merry-go-
round of disappointing repetition. So whats the blockage? We know God IS

What is a generational curse?
A generational curse is a looming negative trait, vice, illness or seeming dark
cloud in our lives that opposes the
promise of abundant life. If we arent Jesus said, The thief does not
having abundant life as professing come except to steal, and to kill,
Christian believers, does that mean satan and to destroy. I have come that
they may have life, and that they
is stronger than the Word? A resounding may have it more abundantly.
NO!, Im sure!!! So then we must John 10:10
question the WHY without glossing
over the scriptures we are uncomfortable
with. No, all of the scriptures must make sense as a whole for Jesus promised
us :
"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not
come to abolish but to fulfill. Matthew 5:17
So lets understand some of those Old Testament scriptures that reveal the
curse:
You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am
a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the
third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing
lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My
commandments.
Exodus 20:56
Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed, The Lord, the
Lord God, compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in
lovingkindness and truth; who keeps lovingkindness for thousands, who
forgives iniquity, transgression and sin; yet He will by no means leave the
guilty unpunished, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on
the grandchildren to the third and fourth generations.
Exodus 34:67
So those of you who may be left will rot away because of their iniquity in
the lands of your enemies; and also because of the iniquities of their
forefathers they will rot away with them.
Leviticus 26:39
I pondered for years... Jesus didnt go around teaching about breaking
generational curses. But then, I understood that healing came to whomever
pulled on His truth... believed in faith (*woman with the issue of blood); and
He delivered the rest. Its like teaching how to make bread versus actually
BEING the bread in understanding. Jesus was/is the complete authority
package, whereas we are always
conforming. Christ redeemed us from the

Jesus (Jeremiah 31:29), but He tells us TREE--Galatians 3:13
over and over that what He did has
purchased us authority. What use is it to
have authority and not USE it?
Herein lies the importance of of implementing...
When it comes to generational curses, Christians should lay hold of Galatians
3:13. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for
us for it is written, Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree. Christ
has paid every debt and broken every curse. The key is to believe that and act
on it. The blood of Christ covers all curses.
A Freed Christian, but the problems remain...
If a curse has landed on you and has been broken, it still doesn't mean you are
delivered from the spirits that entered in through that curse. You may still
need further deliverance to have the spirits cast out that took advantage of the
curses handed to you. Picture it like this... you shut the door... the problem is,
is that the enemy is on the wrong side of the door. True, the curse may be
broken for YOUR future generations, but you have to forcibly (use your
authority) kick that invader out of YOUR house! If they are tough ones to
kick, it may be because weve allowed it to become a stronghold in our
lives... more about that under the subject of deliverance-- but for now, do
some reflection on those dark clouds that seem to hover over your life, visible
family curses, illness ect. and plug in for prayer...
Prayer to Break Generational Curses...
In the name of Jesus, I confess the sins and iniquities of my parents
(name specific sins if known), grandparents (name specific sins if
known), and all other ancestors. I declare that by the blood of Jesus,
these sins have been forgiven and Satan and his demons can no longer
use these sins as legal grounds in my life!
In the name of Jesus, and by the power of His blood, I now declare that
all generational curses have been renounced, broken and severed, and
that I am no longer under their bondage!
In the name of Jesus, I declare myself and my future generations loosed
from any bondages passed down to me from my ancestors. AMEN!

The List
As you reflected upon those possible curses and sources, let this become a
good habit for you to continue throughout your Spiritual Housecleaning.
Points of access are areas where the enemy can get a foothold and rob us of
abundant living. Jesus paid the price and we are saved by receiving Him as
Savior, but every penny must be paid for in actively making Jesus the
appropriation for all things, as we were commanded to do (Ex 12:13, Jn
6:53).
For a next step after axing
possible generational
curses....in this exercise well
go back as far in your life as
can be remembered. Reflect on relationships that were/are big in your life.
Also, any that had anything bad, inappropriate; hurtful to you or others or
even negative talk or judgements.
Add traumatic events that included you or others that, impacted you/bother
your memories. Note life events and/or any medical issues that coincided.
Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to bring things to your mind.
What Are We Looking For?
Soul Ties: Relationships
Physical/sexual, lust (but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman
with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his [Link].
5:28), close work environment or covenant relationships (friends, family,
church, school, mentors). Soul ties can anchor curses!
Curses: Negative Expectations and Inner Vows
When we think of a curse we envision a crooked-fingered witch in a dark
alley and a person that probably got what they had comin because they
shouldntve been there in the first place. We need
to consider what "But I tell you that

change your life! Matthew 12:36
Deliverance: Note big character flaws or snares
the enemy seems to have on a cyclical basis with you. Areas in which you try
but just cant seem to break free.
Wounding: Also...Trauma and Brokenness. These are places that we have
not allowed Jesus to come in and heal. It can be confusing especially when
others have wronged or violated us or damaging things happen & the enemy
swoops in and turns us against others, our selves or against God. Wounds
give place for the enemy to keep us in bondage.
We can see it everywhere... Why is the Christian neighbor a recluse since his
divorce 20 years ago? Why does my sister have panic attacks ever since that
accident she had... she is the biggest intercessor I know. These both have had
all kinds of prayer but the problems remain! We must deal with these
wounds and let Jesus in to heal them.
Is there a time in which you snap or shut down whenever a certain line up
of situations happen? Its root could be a soul wound.
Forgiveness: If there is hurt in a memory in which you say youve
forgiven, there is more there. Forgiveness is
more than saying mere words. We shouldnt feel For if you forgive

avoiding it. I have a forgiveness exercise to help Matthew 6:14
with this.
Repentance/Sin issue: Sure, we often repent of blatant sins, but have we
really examined those offenses, and more to not only repent but to change?
Start Your Checklist
Use paper with a margin to write in, or even better....type on the computer so
you can get the benefit of easily adding in more things you remember later, in
timeline fashion.
As you make your list go by age, grade or year to thoughtfully comb through
so you dont miss anything. You can journal honest thoughts and feelings
under each event as well that may be helpful in exposing anger or wrong
beliefs toward God, self hatred or unforgiveness issues.
After you write out an entry, use a letter marker in the margin to identify the
kind of access:
S : Soul Tie
C : Curse (Youll never, Ill never, repetitive bad thing always seems to
happen)
D : Deliverance issue (feeling like a slave in an area of your life)
W: Wounding (victim of circumstance or anothers sin)
F: Forgiveness issue
R: Repentance/Sin issue (repenting over all sins pre and post getting saved)
P: Programming/Reprogramming (lies believed)
We will use this list as a roadmap for dismantling the access points and the
letter markers will help us in How to deal with each access point.
Prayers and Exercises for Dealing With Specific Types
of Access...
Soul Tie Removal
Prayer for Severing Ungodly Soul Ties,
from the book "Prayers That Heal the Heart" by Mark & Patti Virkler:
1. I confess and repent of my sin of an ungodly soul tie with _____________,
and of my anger and resentment against You, God, for allowing this to
happen in my life.

forgive me, and I receive Your forgiveness. I forgive myself for participating
in this sin.
3. Lord, sever the ungodly soul tie between me and __________ and restore
the broken or torn portions of my soul. Lord, remove anything that has come
into me through this soul tie and, Lord, bring back anything godly that has
been stolen from me.
Dealing With Curses
Break Word Curses
from the book Prayers That Heal the Heart by Mark & Patti Virkler in the
'Strands' worksheet:
1. I confess and repent for receiving the word curse stating that "I
_____________", and for any anger or resentment against You, God, for

over me. I ask You, God, to forgive me, and I receive Your forgiveness. I
forgive myself for participating in this sin.

Calvary. I break this curse over me right now in the name of the Lord Jesus
Christ and I receive His divine blessing of __________ (the opposite)

3. I confess the opposite scriptural truth that _________. (example: If your
negative belief was Im ugly, then you fight that with what GOD says
about you as a positive reprogramming of: I am fearfully and wonderfully
made!
Deliverance
This area we will save for last... it will have its own instruction sheet. You
will want to go through the St. Augustines Examination Guide prior to
deliverance. Our checklist is best for exposing the biggies.
Forgiveness - Also Wounding
An exercise....
Make out a list of everyone thats ever hurt you or youve been mad at.
Approach this exercise humbly with an ernest desire of 'Forgiveness'. As you
write stuff down you'll note that some entries...you know you've forgiven or
reconciled because there will be nothing felt or youll feel peace...but others
you will start popping like popcorn inside. What you are feeling is a demonic
foothold beginning to war from being exposed. Remember that Jesus says in
John 20, "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you
withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld. Just as the Jews continually
offered sacrifice for their sins, we must continually cleanse and ask
forgiveness through Jesus in every area of our lives so the enemy cannot gain
a foothold within us. So do this every so often... and write every little thing
down whether you feel it's completely healed or not because it's also
comforting to see how far you've come! Then spend time with God talking
with Him about it....then throw the list away and then schedule another
session with your Jesus therapist and do this again every so often.
When we forgive those who have hurt us, and receive forgiveness for our
behavior as a result of that hurt, we dont find that were suddenly immune to
being hurt or let down by those we love What we find is that our
REACTION to the hurt has changed. Instead of running for the snack bar,
raging or whatever wound-coping method we may have picked up....we find
ourselves running for our Bible, prayer or worship music, and then we know
that weve changed-- Hallelujah!
A Prayer for Forgiveness...
prayer from: "The Gospel Faith Messenger" Ministry, PO Box 57,
Paraparaumu 5254, NewZealand. [gfm@[Link]]
Dear God, I come to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You
know all about my life and circumstances; nothing that has happened to
me is unknown to You. I now consciously forgive all those who have
spoken negatively and done hurtful things to me. Lord, I place them on
Your altar and ask You to bless them.
I now submit all my hurts and woundings to You, and ask You to
release my wounded spirit to be healed, in Jesus mighty name! I speak
to my spirit to come into divine order, that I may rise up again in Your
name and know the joy and freedom of being made whole! I thank You,
Lord Jesus, that You hear and answer my cry. Right now I accept my
healing and give myself afresh to You. Please take over my life and let
me live it in abundance to glorify You every day. In Jesus name I pray
these things, Amen.
Repentance/Sin
Like deliverance, we need to go a little more in depth and so next well go
through St. Augustines Guide which Ive altered in an attempt to make more
understandable to younger audiences, all denominations and less of the
kings english kind of vibe. (If you prefer, you can find the original
anywhere with this title: ST. AUGUSTINE'S - FORMS AND PRAYERS
FOR SELF-EXAMINATION, CONTRITION, AND SATISFACTION AND
AMENDMENT OF LIFE). I spent time in the dictionary to be as true to
meaning as possible! *Note, its long, but Im adding it because it roots out
areas of access in need of deliverance **YAY!!!**
St. Augustines Guide (A Spiritual Housecleaning Adaptation, by F1 of
[Link] - From Saint Augustines Prayer Book First Edition 1947 and 16th
Edition, 1964)
The Three Elements of Repentance
True repentance has three elements:
1. CONTRITION or sorrow for sin. This can be obtained only at the foot of
the Cross. We may not have an emotion of sorrow, but when we see what our
sins have done to Jesus, we shall be sorry.
2. CONFESSION of all known sin. This involves a careful examination of
our conscience or mind regarding right and wrong. We cannot confess our
sins until we see how we look through the all-seeing lens of God.
3. RESTORATION. We must intend to lead a new or better life. This means
that we not only identify and confess our times of sin, but after having been
delivered... we implore the aid of the Holy Spirit and obey His nudges so that
when the enemy tries to come back seven times stronger, we shall prevail.
Inventory
Before taking the Inventory and Self-Examination, say this prayer:
Precious Holy Spirit, Source of all light, Spirit of wisdom, of
understanding, and of knowledge, come to my assistance and enable
me to make a good confession. Enlighten me and help me now to know
my sins, as one day I shall be forced to recognize them before the
judgment seat of God. Bring to my mind the evil which I have done and
the good which I have neglected. I invite you today to open my eyes
and I command my carnal nature to take a back seat to your truth. Show
me the pain of the Father with heartfelt sorrow for my transgressions,
knowing how deeply they have wounded the living Heart of my
Heavenly Father; and help me to make a good confession that all stain
of guilt may be washed away in the Precious Blood of my Savior Jesus
Christ. Amen.
Think of yourself as Gods child, and of the wickedness of following Satan
rather than your loving Father. Do not be in a hurry, and do not stress yourself
because you cannot remember everything. Be honest with God and with
yourself; this is all God asks of you. Do not fret about your sins. Remember,
you are trying to recall them in order that you may be forgiven, not that you
may be condemned, A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not
despise.
Write down briefly what you remember of your sins. Don't try to depend on
your memory. If there is any question you do not understand, let it alone, and
go on, to the Next one.
-------------------------------------------
Note: This section includes introspective questions to think and write about.
The intent of this next section is not to beat you over the head with the
commandments, but to help bring to mind possible areas of unconfessed sin
that help lead to repentance. Take note and add to your checklist!

forgiveness.

Now lets think on these things and do some praying...
(These prayers are as a guide... what is important is that you make it right
with God. Change them or flow from them as the Holy Spirit leads)
PRAYER AFTER SELF-
EXAMINATION Confession:
a written or spoken statement in
(Really try to get quiet, meditative and which you say that you have
listen for His answers after this prayer. I done something wrong
personally heard several words that I
quickly wrote down; some I had to look up
in the dictionary because I didnt know what they meant! Each thing He told
me, I did have a problem with!)
O my God, how great are my sins! I wish I had never offended You! If by
carelessness or ignorance I have forgotten anything in my self-
examination, please show it to me now that I make a good confession.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
CONTRITION
Contrition:
O my God, I cry out to You as the the state of feeling sorry for bad
prodigal: Father, I have sinned against behavior
heaven, and before You, and am no more
worthy to be called Your child. But now,
O God, give me true sorrow of heart for my many sins whereby I have
grieved You, and enable me to make a full confession, that I may receive
perfect cancellation of them, through Your infinite goodness. Amen.
O God, I am very sorry that I have sinned against You, who are so good.
Forgive me for Jesus' sake, and I will try to sin no more. Amen.
O God, I love You with my whole heart and above all things and am so sorry
that I have offended You. May I never offend You any more. Oh, may I love
You without ceasing, and make it my delight to serve You and remain under
Your canopy (Your will be done) of protection. Amen.
*Note: the Form for Confession is modified as to confess directly to
Jesus Christ, our High Priest. ----------------------------
FORM FOR CONFESSION
Kneel in place to Jesus and say:
Forgive me and Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.
Now accept that Jesus has given you His forgiveness and blessing (I
personally visualized this great event... the Prodigal me had come home!)
In following the Prodigal Son story... now that the Father has run out to
embrace you... do as the Prodigal Son did... immediately now confess to Him
(Luke 15:21) :
I confess to God Almighty, and to you, Jesus, that I have sinned
exceedingly in thought, word, and deed, by my fault, by my own fault, by
my own most grievous fault.
For these and all my other sins which I cannot now remember, I am very
sorry, I resolve to change, and ask pardon of God, and of you, Jesus.
Holy Spirit, I welcome your teaching and direction in my life, help me to
walk in Holiness. Amen.
Listen attentively to anything Christ may bring to mind through the Holy
Sprit; humbly accept his forgiveness.

Preparing for Deliverance
Getting Ready
Have a Bible handy. A topical Bible is handy too incase other things get
revealed during your deliverance-- same goes with a dictionary and
thesaurus... you need to know what it IS or MEANS and its opposite so you
can fight with the truth from the Word.
Lists of identified spirits
Remember going through St. Augustines Guide? Remember the things you
identified with and repented of? Sometimes things release and let go, but if
youve entertained them awhile or have strongholds built up around them, its
time for deliverance.
With each named onein advance do your homework and have ready
scriptures that are the positive opposite and the positive antonyms listed as
well (you will use the scriptures and the antonyms as a wedge during your
deliverance session. Example: if my problem is 'Depression', then I will look
for scriptures that declare the opposite: JOY).
I mentioned strongholds...
Strongholds can take some extra unravelling and sometimes the
ministry of truth, and reprogramming from lies believed, can be so
powerful that spirits leave before you ever get on to doing deliverance.
Here is a very valuable video called: The Ministry of Truth Breaks
Strongholds - Dan Mohler
Another video that is helpful is: On Love and Overcoming
Strongholds/Deliverance
Clear possible distractions! Turn off the phone. Take thoughts captive that
encourage delay. Clear your schedule. Put out your 'Do not disturb' sign!
Box of Kleenex possibly a waste basket (hey, who knows?)
Wear comfortable clothes so you focus on what you're doing & not that collar
that is too tight etc.
Get into Praise and Worship!!!!!! Give thanksgiving in advance for your
deliverance & praise your great deliverer!
--------------------------------------------
Deliverance
Call the spirit to attention by name
Let them know they are not welcome anymore & declare who you are in
HIM that you belong to JESUS. Exercise your authority by proclaiming it
by the blood of Jesus (demons HATE the blood of Jesus this is just wisdom
gleaned from deliverance ministries), AND by the authority in His name.
Cast it out in Jesus' name
There are varied ways of casting it out, telling it to "GO!"in the name of
Jesus. or cast it to the footstool of Jesus for His judgement. Whatever you
decide it must align with scripture : )
Fight with the Word
After I give the first command to go in the name of Jesus. I then begin to
prophetically declare those positive scriptures as MINE!
Example, if sadness is the vice, I fight with scriptures about JOY:
"You have put gladness in my heart, more than when their grain and
new wine abound." Psalm 4:7
"For you (I) will go out with joy and be led forth with peace; the
mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you
(ME), and all the trees of the field will clap their hands." Isaiah 55:12
"The sound of joyful shouting and salvation is in the tents of the
righteous; the right hand of the LORD does valiantly." Psalm 118:15
Meet opposition with the 'impartation wedge'
Get out your homework, remember the vices; their definitions, and then the
opposite, or Antonym. I impart those one word antonyms into my spirit,
declaring they go where the enemy formerly occupied. "By the power of the
Holy Spirit, I impart joy, gladness, peace, etc. into my spirit in those areas of
former enemy occupation"-----see I'm prophetically speaking as if they aren't
there anymore. I am pushing them out because I'm already visualizing their
displacement!
*pay attention. are you having any visions showing you things holding on?
Speak to those things being uprooted, torn down, cut, and destroyed in the
name of Jesus.
*.are you having physical manifestations of sorts? Coughing? tingling
sensations, hiccups, heart racing, shaking etc.? This is Good!. you're hitting
it! Keep going!
*.do you feel lighter? peace, joy, fire in your belly or another positive
sensation? Good. you're done. congratulations overcomer in Jesus!!!
Keeping your deliverance
We know full well they will try to return. so now you must continue your
discipline in taking thoughts captive, making efforts to avoid places, things,
activities that will lead you back into sin. Reading the Word daily &
especially continuing to focus on scriptures that fight whatever would attempt
to return (Declare from a topical Bible or use a tool like the Bible Promise
Series). Begin a lifestyle of self examination & journalling is a good way to
monitor your growth.
Example:
2/22 "Today he/she began to complain about our money situation
again and I went right back into immediate offense but before
finishing my sentence I caught myself. I apologized and then realized
I could turn this around for them as well and began to speak life, hope,
patience --precepts from the Word into our conversation and it went
from night to day! Then later in my prayer closet after repenting --
also to God for entertaining that spirit I reaffirmed "I am forgiven,
and I am delivered"--- I began to study the Word regarding
'compassion' the opposite of that spirit of offense."
3/14 "Today offense tried to rear it's ugly head again, but this time it
remained a mental assault only.. It didn't come out my mouth,
PRAISE YOU LORD!"
Don't you know this discipline (self examination) is the path to conforming to
Christ Jesus? You will find your focus will shift as your relationship with
Father God grows you will love people more, understanding that they too
may be where you once were. You'll have that empathy for them while
walking in praise and thanksgiving for your personal freedom. You will begin
to not think of 'right & wrong', but asking 'does this please Father God.
does this align with His Word?'
And isn't that how you treat a lover? How wonderful this journey is
blessings as you go deeper and deeper into His heart!
Always here to help...
In Christ Jesus, F1
