Collaborative Learning & Self-Assessment Impact

This article discusses a study on the effect of collaborative learning and self-assessment on self-regulation. The study found that for self-assessment to be effective and increase motivation, teachers must provide support and opportunities need to be created for self-regulation. It also takes one to two years of collaborative learning and self-assessment for patterns to increase student motivation and learning. The article is relevant to research on early implementation of self-assessment because it emphasizes that it takes time for self-assessment to become natural and have benefits, so it should start early in a student's schooling.
