1.

What are the basic requirements to get your physical and mental
capability?

We need to have a lifestyle in a proper condition and we should care about

regular sleep pattern and sleep duration and about our eat and drink habit
and prefer fast-digestible foods like carbohydrates.
We should avoid to use drugs, energy booster tablets, alcohol and nicotine.
We should regularly do sports to achieve a capability of sufficient
activeness and mobility.
We should avoid stressors making an extreme physical and mental tension.
Conditions in working environment like illumination, noise temperature, air
conditioning shall be at an optimum level.

2. Explain the type of stress and the items identifying a negatively

stressed person.

There are two types of stress. One of which is EU stress that is also called positive
stress and has a motivating effect on persons. Another is Dis stress that is also
called negative stress and has a demotivating effect on persons.

A person may be effected by internal and external problems. That causes a

negative stress on person. A negatively stressed person may bring this condition
caused in social life to working environment or it is already created in working
area. This stress will reduce his/her performance and concentration. Decreasing
concentration will make him/her open to ignore the hazards and to make
mistakes. He will feel nervous and not be able to work anymore after he quits
internally. He/she may speak ill of his company and that will be a bad
identification with it. He/she may negatively effect his colleagues aswell.

3. Explain the elements of SHELL Model and describe the interfaces.

The acronym SHELL stands for Software Hardware Environment Liveware and
Liveware.

Software means a documentation giving instructions on how to use a tool,

equipment or any part of a system or the procedure of system, principals in a
working area. A simple example of software is aircraft maintenance manuals
which clearly gives instructions on aircraft maintenance.

Hardware is the mechanical equipment necessary for conducting an activity

usually distinguished from the theory or design that makes the activity possible.
Tools, equipments, components, parts could be several example for hardware.

Environment means all external factors like air, minerals, water, organisms
surronding and effecting an organism at a given time. Facilities and air conditions
in these facilities could be examples for environment.
Liveware means all personel working in a system. A maintenance technician
could be an example for liveware.

The interfaces show how the system elements effect each other. In a system,
human is the base and interfaces are determined referring to the human.

The interface LIVEWARE-SOFTWARE shows the relationship between the human

and instructions, procedures, principles etc.

The interface LIVEWARE-HARDWARE shows the relationship between the human

and equipments, tools, machines, materials etc.

The interface LIVEWARE-ENVIRONMENT shows the relationship between the

human and working area and conditions.

The interface LIVEWARE-LIVEWARE shows the relationship between two persons.

4. What are the the requirements of an employee? Why are family and
supervisor/company important to meet these requirement?

The requirements to be met by an employee are Fitness, Good Basic Education,

Following the Procedures, Type Knowledge, Capability of Teamwork and being a
good Team Member, Identification with Company/Work.

Family and Supervisor/Company are support element for an employee to meet

the requirements.

5. What are the elements of Fitness? Explain two of them with short
examples.

Five elements of Fitness are Intellect, Intuition, Instinct, Emotion and Body.

Intellect(idrak) is a term used in studies of the human mind, and refers to the
ability of the mind to come to correct conclusions about what is true or wrong,
and about how to solve problems(thought and reason).

Instinct(igd) is an inherent inclination of a living organism towards a particular

complex behavior. Any behavior is instinctive if it is performed without being
based upon a prior experience(without learning) and is therefore an expression of
innate biological factors. Sea turtles, newly batched on a beach, will
automatically move toward the ocean.

Intuition(nsezi/sezgi) is the ability to acquire knowledge without inference or the

use of reason. It is the wisdom formed by feeling and instict-a gift of knowing
without reasioning.
Emotion(his/duygu) is a state of feeling that results in physical and psychological
changes that influence our behavior. Shortly and simply, it is the state of mind
and instinctive responses.

Body is the physical and physiological state of a person.

6. State the name of 5 elements of Dirty Dozen and explain 2 of them.

Five elements of Dirty Dozen are Complacency, Stress, Lack of Teamwork,

Norms/Peer Pressure and Time Pressure. 12 maddeden her hangi be madde
yazlabilir.

Over-confidence at work is called Complacency. It is usually found in a person

who has a lot of experience on the job or in one who has done a certain task
multiple times. That is a self given satisfaction. That causes the ignorance of
actual data and trust in own knowledge. This is where the dangers of
complacency would kick in.

Norms are unwritten rules or behaviors, dictated and followed by the majority of
a group. Doing the same Daily routine and the way of doing a business not
approved for long time can be accepted and followed by new employees and
therefore accepted as local culture. To prevent any negative norm, any employee
must abide the actual and approved policies and procedures.
