Technology's Role in Modern Education

Technology is not the enemy of education. It is simply another tool that can be used to enhance learning if implemented properly. In the past, books were seen as a new technology that some feared would undermine memory, but they ended up becoming accepted. Similarly, teachers now have an opportunity to use current technologies like the internet, videos, and smartphones to bring learning materials to students in new ways. While technologies could potentially promote laziness if misused, the role of educators is to guide students in gaining knowledge from these resources rather than replacing memory with them.

Technology is an enemy of good education

Por Luis Gabriel Rodrguez Bolaos

We know that the technology has advanced a lot, and we know that this has been
a progress for the world, for example now any person how to use the technology
can read the books that they want on PDF, a teacher can teach trough videos on
the internet for example Julio Profe, also young people now have more posibilites
to study or to work, because first is not too expensive and second you can do it in
your house.
The technology is not the enemy of the education. It is a tool more. We have to
remember that in the past the book was a technology and the Egyptians were
afraid because they thought that invention would leave the without memory. For the
Egyptians the write language means "the language of the gods". Thoth pattern of
the escribas, defend Amon, god-king, the invention of the writing. Amon
complained about the invention of Thoth saying that this invent it would foment
laziness and would provide that the people did not serve more of the memory, And
entrusted to written characters forgetting who they were. "Is not a help for the
memory is the remembrance" is not the truth is a reflect, They will hear many
things and will not have learned anything. They will be omniscient and in general
they will ignore everything, their company will be bore because they will have the
appearance of wise without really being."
This confrontation between the oral tradition, natural, With that filtered with the
cultural conventions and technology throws the following question: The use of the
cell phone is negative because yes?, the internet? I think that the mission of the
teacher is to use them and give them a good use.
