Math Patterns Lesson Reflection

This lesson reflection discusses a math patterns lesson taught by Teacher Jawaher Ahmed Alkaabi to her KG2 class. [1] The students did well making and drawing their own patterns using colorful shapes and sticks, as they were able to understand patterns by the end of circle time. [2] However, introducing the concept of patterns was challenging as the teacher had difficulty explaining it simply enough for the students to understand. Firstly, discuss one aspect that YOU feel you did very well. Try to analyze
why you think it worked well and what hints you would share with other teachers
about the successful strategy/ resource/activity/management style etc.

During the activities, the students did very well while making & drawing a pattern by
their own.

It was successful because they understood the meaning of the patterns at the end of
the circle time.

Recourse: - colorful shapes to make a pattern worksheets colors sticks to put the
shapes on it.

Secondly, elaborate on the aspect identified by YOU that requires attention.


Discuss what the problem was, why it occurred and what action you intend to
take to be more successful in the next lesson.

When I was introducing the patterns and try to make them understand what is it and
how things can be a patterns.

It was occurred because I couldnt make it much easier than it is, and the students
wasnt able to understand the meaning of the pattern.
