Heat Transfer in Solid Bodies

The document discusses conduction as the flow of heat in a solid body through the transfer of kinetic energy from one molecule to another even though the substance as a whole is at rest, and that fluidized bed boilers with their high solids content use a high percentage of conductive heat transfer.

Conduction: In a solid body, the flow of heat is by means of

conduction and is accomplished through the transfer of kinetic
energy from one molecule to another, even though the substance
as a whole is at rest. Fluidized bed boilers, with their high solids
content, use a high percentage of this form of heat transfer.
