Building Permit Process for Councils

To obtain clearance and a building permit from the Municipality or District Council, an applicant must first submit plans to the Ceylon Electricity Board, Ceylon Water Authority, and Wastewater Management Authority to obtain clearance. The applicant then submits the original building plan, two complete sets of plans, and a copy of the obtained clearances to the Municipality or District Council to receive a building permit.

For Municipality or District Council

1. To Obtain clearance from Authorities


Step 1. For CEB, Do 2 sets (only site & Location plan,Floor
Plan,Elevations).
Step 2. For CWA, Do 2 x complete sets.
Step 3. For WMA(Wastewater Management Authority),Do 2 x
complete sets.

2. To Obtain Building permit from


Municipality or District Council.
Step 1. Submit Original plan + 2 sets of complete plan + 1 copy
of clearance from CEB,CWA & WMA.
