You are required to present using PowerPoint and to submit (per group) one printedcopy of the PowerPoint, sketches, drawings and explanatory notes, all in English.

You will be assessed as a group in respect of the submission (50%) and individually in
the respect of the presentation (50%).

3. Observe the ground condition and site condition to consider the relevant/main issues.
Some examples are given as follows: (a) adjacent building; (b) dewatering; (c) time; (d)
cost effectiveness; (e) working platform for the safe construction of work; (f) vertical and
horizontal transportation of soil/machinery; (g) open cut v. lateral support; etc.
4. Prepare a method statement with sketches/drawings outlining the stages of excavation and
the temporary works. Discuss the reasons for adopting the proposed method statement.
5. Prepare a programme indicating the key components and critical components.
6. Before the commencement of works, the client would like to incorporate an additional
1.0m excavation. Outline the implication and concern (ONLY in respect of excavation).
