Instructions for Authors

Manuscripts submitted for publication should be of high academic merit and are accepted
on condition that they are contributed solely to the Songklanakarin J. Sci. Technol.
Manuscripts, parts of which have been previously published in conference proceedings, may
be accepted if they contain additional material not previously published and not currently
under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Submission of a multi-authored manuscript implies the consent of all the participating
authors. All manuscripts considered for publication will be peer-reviewed by independent
referees.
Manuscripts submitted to Songklanakarin J. Sci. Technol. must include:
1. A manuscript text file containing title page, abstract, keywords, contents,
acknowledgments, reference list and appendices
(if necessary). No figures or tables should be included in this file. The title page of
this file should include the title of the article,
full names and affiliations of all authors, and the name, e-mail address, telephone
and fax numbers, and full postal address of the corresponding author.
2. A figure file containing figures which are clear and high - quality with minimal shading.
Each figure is to follow its number on the same page. A figure caption list should
precede all the figures.
3. A table file containing all the tables (including title, description, footnotes).
4. An explanation file containing the answer to reviewers comments for the revised
manuscript. Authors who are instructed to revise their manuscript have to highlight
all point of their responded in text, figure and table files.
Contributors submitting manuscripts for consideration for publication should follow the
following guidelines.
1. All manuscripts must be submitted via the SJST Online Submission System:

2. Manuscript includes separate manuscript text, table and figure files.

3. Manuscript text, table and figure files should be created using Microsoft Word (.doc,
docx files).
4. Manuscript must be written using high - quality language. For non-native English
language authors, the article should be proof - read by a language specialist. Poor
use of English could result in immediate rejection of the paper.
5. Manuscript should be no longer than 4500 words and the combined number of
figures and tables should not exceed 10. The inclusion of more figures and tables
will reduce the word allowance, and vice versa.
6. Manuscript should be prepared single column, double - spaced, with sufficient
margins (3 cm) for editorial and proof-readers marks. 12 pt Times New Roman font
should be used throughout and all pages numbered consecutively.
7. Abstracts should be no longer than 150 words (the additional abstract can be added
by attach file.) About 5 keywords should also be provided.
8. All measures should be reported in SI units followed if necessary, in the text, by
traditional units in parentheses. The quantity billion (109 in America, 1012 in
Europe) is ambiguous and should be avoided.
9. Tables and figures should each be numbered consecutively.
10. Line drawings should be of high resolution and high contrast. Black-and-white or
color photographs may be accepted provided they are of high quality. They should
also be provided as computer graphic files after the manuscript is accepted for
publication and in the final form. Regardless of the application used, when the
electronic artwork is finalized, the images should be saved as, or converted to, one
of the following formats. (Note the resolution requirements for line drawings,
halftones, and line/halftone combinations given below.)
EPS: Vector drawings. Embed the font or save the text as "graphics".
TIFF: Color or greyscale photographs (halftones): use a minimum of 300 dpi.
TIFF: Bitmapped line drawings: use a minimum of 1000 dpi.
TIFF: Combinations bitmapped line/half-tone (colour or greyscale): use a
minimum of 500 dpi.
11. Acknowledgments should be as brief as possible, in a separate section before the
references, not in the text or as footnotes.

12. Citations of published literature in the text should be given in the form of author and
year in parentheses; (Wutthikul et al., 2001), or, if the name forms part of a sentence,
it should be followed by the year in parenthesis; Wutthikul et al. (2001). All
references mentioned in the Reference list must be cited in the text, and vice versa.
13. The References section at the end of the manuscript should list all, only the
references cited in the text in alphabetical order of the first authors surname and no
number in front of each reference. Titles of the journal or conference proceedings
are not abbreviated. The following are examples of reference writing.

14. Appendix: All supplementary material as well as items of interest only to specialists
in the field should be placed in an Appendix. Model formulations, descriptions of
methods, lists of symbols, acronyms etc. may be included here, if necessary.
15. The revision manuscript should have the highlight on revised parts. Authors must be
written the explanation (how they have revised) along with their manuscript.
