Understanding Electric Cells and Current

An electric cell has different parts, including two plates made of zinc and carbon materials separated by an electrolyte liquid. The electrolyte dissolves the zinc plate, causing it to lose protons and become negatively charged while protons combine with the electrolyte and move to the positively charged carbon plate. Electrons then flow through an external conductor connecting the plates, creating an electric current.

SUMMARY OF LESSON A
1.

CELLS
A cell is small container. An electrical cell is a small container that
produces or makes electricity
An electric cells has different parts

They are pictures of two plates. A plate is made of Zinc (metal). Other
plate is made of Carbon (no metal). The liquid in an electric cell is
called the electrolyte.
Now the electrolyte will dissolve the Zinc plate. When the electrolyte
dissolves the zinc plate, the zinc plate loses protons so it is negatively
charge.
The protons that are lost by plate zinc. They combine with the
electrolyte and move to the carbon plate by chemical action. When the
protons reach the carbon plate, they meet electrons from the carbon
plate, the carbon plate loses electrons so it is positively charge.
A conductor connects the negative zinc plate to the positive carbon
plate. Now the electrons move through the conductor thus creating an
electric current
