Water Flow Experiment Methodology

The document describes the methodology for an experiment involving different shaped modules in a water flow. Four modules with different shapes - convex, round, hydrofoil, and stadium - are prepared. Water is run through a pipe onto a workbench and its flow rate is measured using a piece of paper. Ink is slowly released through a needle into the water. Each module is placed in the center of the workbench one at a time and photos are taken from above to observe the streamlines formed around the different shapes with both full and half water flow.

Then, water pipe connected to the water supply. Water from the tap was then
fully turned on until the water flow on the work bench. The flow of water flow
from inlet to outlet. Flow rate of water was determined by a piece of paper by
calculating the time and distance the paper move. The equation is flow rate, v =
Distance/ Time. The ink tank filled with ink is then released slowly through the
needles. Run the water until able to see clear straight lines on the work bench. Put
one of the modules at the centre of work bench and streamlines will formed. A
photo was taken from the top. The experiment is repeated with another 3 modules.
Then, the experiment is repeated with half open tap water. All above procedures
are repeated.
