The College of William and Mary gathered together to honor the lives of LGBTQ
members that were killed on a shooting attack in a nightclub. The group that got together to
honor the people who died were in favor or a part of the LGBTQ community and wanted to show
their support because sometimes there's only certain places that you can come out the closet if
you haven't came out yet. As Pallavi Rudraraju '17 states "Spaces like these are all we have. We
organized this vigil to process our grief and to come out stronger and more vibrant. We hope that
after you return to your homes and dormitories tonight, you do not forget." After this incident
happening people are now afraid to be happy on the month of pride because they don't know how
to feel. But they want to raise awareness that the LGBTQ is a family and stand together as one. I
dont really know yet if this article will work and connect with my essay yet.

This article goes over with many facts of the pros and con that can come with being part
of the LGBTQ community, through the perspectives of youths. Researchers got together a certain
amount of youths to interview them and to try to identify themselves as a teen through the
community and what the go through. Many examinations and experiences were looked at
through the different contexts of the positive and negative effects being gay, lesbian, bisexual can
do. The groups that were made, 9 of them were part of the lgbt community and 1 was a gaystraight group. The participants were given goods upon arrival and participation to help the focus
and really communicate with the other participants. They were also given the option to leave if
they wanted to but none did, everyone seemed happy to contribute. But the whole idea of
gathering the groups together was to approach different aspects of the positive and negative
factors LGBTQ can represent to different people. I believe that this article could help me in my
essay because it has many things that could help me throughout my essay. Help me represent my
idea along with others.

This article examines throughout the contrast in sexual orientation by having explored the
relationships. Past researchers have labeled certain people to feel a certain way if they labeled
themselves as lesbian, gay or bisexual. If that person fell into a certain category they obviously
felt a way, according to researchers. Well this article wants to actually explored whether these
important differences could be something caused to a persons choice of a sexual identity
description. Online surveys were made through Facebook across Canada, and 236 participants
agreed to participate, four groups were made to distinct the sexual identities and see what they
experienced and felt. As known some of the groups felt lower in their self esteem due to the
constant grief that made them feel a certain way. Activism is needed in caution to help these
people. I believe that this article might be able to help and fit in with my essay, because it has
real points of view from people and they way that they feel if they are part of the LGBTQ
community.
